After supporting Donald Trump’s missile strike on Syria, John McCain is once again criticising the Trump administration.
When asked if the White House bore some responsibility for the chemical attack that McCain claims Syria was responsible for, he responded by saying,
Shooting from the hip with unerring accuracy was the Wild West according to Hollywood. As anyone who has ever fired a pistol will tell you it is improbable, and historically the West’s few gun duels were rather unremarkable. The latest hip-shooter is of course Donald J. Trump whose foreign policy seems to turn on a dime — from not[Read More...]
As President Trump was launching his missile strike against Syria, CIA Director Pompeo and other intelligence officials weren’t at the table, suggesting their doubts about Bashar al-Assad’s guilt, reports Robert Parry.

Viktor Ozerov, Chairman of the Russian Federal Council Defence and Security Committee, has told Sputnik that there are no plans whatsoever for Russia to militarily engage with US forces in Syria.
Ozerov stated,
“Russia is not going there to conduct armed actions with the US, our task there is to support the Syrian armed forces in the fight against terrorism”.
After firmly uniting behind regime change in Syria on the 6th of April, the Trump administration is yet again openly displaying signs of disorganised foreign policy chaos over Syria.
The Mosul airstrikes and many others killed over a thousand Iraqi civilians in March, and you might imagine that western leaders would be at least mildly disapproving of this horrible butchery, but there hasn’t been a word from any of them.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson tells us that the war on Syria can only be solved through a ‘political process’. Wait, didn’t Nikki Haley just say “…getting Assad out is not the only priority, we don’t see a peaceful Syria with Assad in there”.
The undersigned students’ organisations and unions from North East India, would like to extend solidarity with people of African origin living in India and particularly those who were attacked in Greater Noida recently. We empathise with the violence, ordeals, and humiliation faced by Africans in India.
Senator Rand Paul is calling on the Senate Intelligence Committee to review the evidence linking Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to a chemical weapons attack that lead to Trump’s illegal missile strike on Syria.
Paul went on the “The Laura Ingraham Show” and noted that Assad is“either the dumbest dictator in the world, or it may be more confusing.”
How did the world end up with a worse US Ambassador to the United Nation than Samantha Power?
Nikki Haley is as clueless as Power ever was, much more hateful of Russia, and more supportive of Al Qaeda.
CNN is happy to give Haley a platform for her disinformation campaign.

Before he gets more deeply involved in Syria’s civil war, Donald Trump will have to win one at home. The Republican Party was already divided after failing to repeal Obamacare. Now the conflict has spread to the White House, where Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner are at daggers drawn. Even Trump’s most loyal grassroots and media supporters are in an uproar over the president’s evolving foreign policy, which has taken a turn toward the establishment as his domestic agenda sinks into the swamp he promised to drain...
Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is in New Delhi today on a four-day visit. It is widely expected that he will advocate for, among other things, increased coal and Uranium export from Australia to India. The issue of coal export to India gains significance in the backdrop that world’s largest coal mine in Australia is being planned to be developed[Read More...]

There is widespread criticism of Trump’s Syria attack on the left, and many of the reasons stated are spot on: The attack was surely not motivated by humanitarian considerations, contrary to what is claimed. The attack is illegal, both under US and international law, and hence constitutes an act of war. The US has been conducting military strikes in Syria[Read More...]
Dennis Kucinich hit all the main points.
He talks about the false flag Ghouta chemical attack.
He talks about the United States helping ISIS by attacking Assad.
He talks about helping Saudi Arabia (who Kucinich notes played a large role in 9-11), by attacking Assad.
When asked point blank about whether he believes Assad committed the chemical attacks, Kucinich said “NO”.
When asked if rebels have used chemical weapons, Kucinich said “YES”.
The only other way that Obama was different was that, when Britain’s MI6 found that Obama’s assertion that Bashar al-Assad’s forces were behind the 21 August 2013 Ghouta Syrian sarin gas attack was false, Prime Minister David Cameron, who had already been denied by Parliament approval for joining Obama’s invasion, refused to repeat Tony Blair’s infamous act, and he simply said no to the U.S. President...

Recently, Thailand-based media platform, Voice TV, faced a seven day ban after violating licencing agreements and multiple counts of misconduct. Various articles, including those published by local English-language newspaper, The Nation, would portray the incident as a crackdown on “free of expression” and “media freedom.”
In its article, “Voice TV ban ‘an attack on media freedom’,” The Nation would claim:
As Yemen’s population has teetered on the brink of mass starvation in recent months, the United States has played a crucial role in enabling the Saudi strategy responsible for that potential humanitarian catastrophe. Both the Obama and Trump administrations have prioritized the US’s alliance with the Saudis and their Gulf allies over the lives of […]

President Trump’s former enemies in the mainstream media, which he has characterized as purveyors of “fake news,” turned on a dime the moment he bombed Syria: the Establishment was thrilled that, suddenly, he was acting “presidential.” CNN, a particular target of the President’s ire, was gushing: NBC’s Brian Williams, in a bizarre turn of phrase, […]

It was paid for by the official, FEC-registered Ahn for Congress congressional campaign.

It is becoming increasingly self-evident that Steve Bannon’s opposition to Donald Trump’s unprovoked attack on Syria was the proximate cause for his removal from his position observing the National Security Council. His disagreements and personally poor relationship with Ivanka Trump’s husband Jared Kushner also certainly played a role.

In March 2017, Mintpress News reported on a declassified CIA report that exposes that, contrary to popular belief, the US government has had plans to initiate regime change in Syria as far back as the 1980s. The report is entitled “Syria: Scenarios of Dramatic Political Change” and was written by the Foreign Subversion and Instability Center in July 1986.
This is part 4 of a 5 part report which attempts to detail a history of the rise of ISIS and to explain its true relations to the actors involved in the war theatre.
Rachel Maddow has been covering the Alabama impeachment saga-- and for a long time. And she's doing a really good job of it. We haven't been writing much about Robert Bentley's plight because it looked like just another example of a hypocritical "family values" Republican caught in the act. "People bow to the throne." Yeah...But there is something beyond the salacious details to note in this unfolding scandal.

Out of all the intelligence agencies in the United States, we’ve come across stories where not everyone is on the ‘same page’. Indeed we’ve also heard about factions embroiled in competition, and rivalry. Moral compass, personal principles, and ethics being challenged which lead to inner conflict; just some of the reasons that gave us former NSA whistleblower William Binney and more recently in the last few years, Edward Snowden.
