In the days following the US missile strike on Al-Shayrat air base in Syria, the US National Security Council published a four page white paper purporting to set out the evidence that the chemical weapons attack on Khan Sheikhoun – the reason for the missile strike – was carried out by the Syrian military.
Before discussing this document I am going to say something about the absurdity of this whole situation.
RT | April 18, 2017 The Russian embassy in London is calling on Britain to explain its testing of an alleged chemical weapons attack site in Syria, adding it hopes the UK’s “takeover exercise” does not destroy the possibility of an impartial investigation. Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson told MPs British scientists found sarin or a […]

Pretty much every official statement emanating from the U.S. government these days is a deception, fabrication, or outright lie. I understand that this is a hard thing for a U.S. citizen to admit, but as James Baldwin so accurately stated:
“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
Let’s hope that the governments of Venezuela, Cuba, and North Korea will soon lose power. But that’s only the first step. We also need to think about the policies that would enable these nations to undo the damage of pervasive socialism. Eastern Europe is a perfect case study in what to do and what not to do.
The following, necessarily brief, reflections have been sparked off by two recent posts on Kafila – one by Biju Mathew published on 16 April, and the other by CP Geevan, published today. These reflections should not be seen as a response to the positions taken by Biju and/ or Geevan; they are, in fact, more … Continue reading Beyond Defeatism – Political Parties and the Fight Against Hindutva
With a general election in Britain to take place in just over a month, many people’s eyes will be on Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Corbyn was to be the man who would once and for all purge the Blairite, globalist, neo-liberal factions from the Labour party and return it to traditional working class socialism.
It was almost magical watching Chris Hayes interrogate Carter Page on his show a few weeks ago. I kept thinking Page must have a death wish. You can watch a little of it n the clip above. Page is another of those fringe characters Trump has catapulted into the national consciousness. The 45 year old Page is a Russian oil industry speculator who-- seemingly out of nowhere-- wound up a Trump foreign policy advisor.

Of course a ‘technicality’ would be found to give that slippery eel Tony Blair some light relief and to keep coveted information safe under the ‘Official Secrets Act’. We wouldn’t want that two week scouring of the Chilcot Inquiry papers by the British Security Services to indicate that indeed Chilcot himself could have ‘mistakenly’ left out certain information of the report, would we.
According to the recently released World Happiness Report, many of the happiest nations are those found in the Germanic portions of the world. One of these is the Netherlands.
But the Netherlands doesn’t just contain happy adults; it contains happy children as well, as author Rina Mae Acosta explains in an interview for MarketWatch. As Acosta sees it, there are several things which Dutch parents do which promote this happiness. Here are three of them.

For news of the world, peel away from those who follow the daily offerings of bombings and supposed terror attacks, as bulls in the ring chase a red cape to their ritualistic slaughter. Look instead in places like Haiti, where it is easy to discern the lies from the truth. In such places, where no one appears to be watching, the sanctimonious missionaries do not hide their faces as they morph into kidnappers and pedophiles. The bribes are publicly offered and accepted.
Why does government hate the gold standard … or any real standard for that matter? At the heart of government’s attack on gold, silver, bitcoin, and other commodity standards is an outright hatred for accountability and private property, and a real love for theft.

The controversial proposal has been sent back to a special subcommittee to “tighten up the language.” If approved, the new policy would allow police to investigate family members of New Yorkers whose DNA closely matches DNA found at crime scenes.

By Tim Hayward | April 18, 2017 I’m no expert about Syria, so why these blogposts? The initial stimulus was realising that people of good will and similar ethics can have some markedly contrasting views of the situation in Syria. This was a puzzle to me. And given the gravity of what’s at stake, I felt […]

A disgustingly misconstrued story attempting to defame Alex Jones has been circulating on alt-media, social media and the mainstream media.
Jones, the founder of and lead host of InfoWars, is currently engaged in a child custody battle in a Texas court with his estranged wife.
Jones has been upset because he has not been allowed sufficient time with his young children, a deeply personal issue which has now been splayed out before the wider media circus.
