Throwing explosive devices and a car bomb! - Businessweek leaves that out! Why?
The series of explosions hit at 7:50 a.m., with witnesses cited by Xinhua, the state news agency, saying that two “cross-country vehicles” plowed into market crowds and explosives were thrown from them.
One of the vehicles exploded in the busy morning market, ( car bomb?!) Xinhua said, citing someone in the market who said that there had been a dozen big bangs. Saloshka, a woman who said she was about 100 paces from scene, said on her Sina Weibo account that the casualties were “elderly grandpas and grannies” at market early.
Photographs said to be from the scene showed injured people, many elderly, lying on the ground, some being dragged away by others and loaded onto tricycles or ambulances, with blood stains amid scattered vegetables and personal belongings. Others sat on stools or the ground, appearing dazed. A large fire raged in the background.
Tianshan Net said the explosions happened in the Shayibake District on North Park Street. The district is known as Saybagh in Uighur, but according to Chinese media reports is almost entirely inhabited by people of Han ethnicity. Urumqi is a segregated city segregated, with Uighur and Han mostly living apart.

Muslims 'everywhere' are standing up for their religion? Quite a statement, no? This is a veiled reference to the NATO Islamist fighters and their use of militant Islam (wahhabiism) as justification for every atrocity they commit on behalf of the NATO global tyrannical army.Uighers may well feel marginalized and with all the right proddings, one can easily turn a sore spot into a festering wound
China “blames a Uighur military group known either as the East Turkistan Islamic Movement or the Turkistan Islamic Party. While Uighurs are known to be among Islamic militants hiding across the border in Pakistan's lawless northwestern region, it isn't clear whether such a group exists and is capable of organizing and carrying out violence in Xinjiang. Uighur militants occasionally turn up in propaganda videos to either praise or take credit for attacks within China. There is also a large network of activists in the Uighur diaspora who call for a peaceful struggle against the authorities. They are led by U.S.-based Rebiya Kadeer”

Could someone tell Businessweek that indeed, the Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement exists! One must always keep in mind the early days of NATO’s Al Quada and the role of both Afghanistan & Pakistan in creating that terror fighting machine, then bring that forward to present day. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – The Russia-China gas deal is a nightmare for the Ukraine and European Union, because now Russia does not need the European market to sell its gas to avoid a budget deficit.
Currently there is one complete gas pipeline that runs throughout Russia to the Chinese border – the “Siberian Power” - which Gazprom broke ground on in 2007, 3 years after Gazprom and CNPC signed a strategic cooperation agreement in 2004. The pipeline stretches across Russia’s Far East (Dalini Vostok) and after extension to China, it will deliver gas near Beijing.
So it appears this pipeline has been under construction for year already... and will be completed in 2018
Gas could be delivered via Vladivostok, Russia’s eastern port city on the Sea of Japan, or through the city of Blagoveshchensk, a landlocked city in the Amur region.However, to finish the project for 2018 delivery, Gazprom and CNPC need to come to an agreement on how to finish the proposed portion of the pipeline into China, which could cost between $22-$30 billion, according to various estimates. Russia wants China to either pay or issue a loan for the project, which has been a delaying factor in talks. (Looks like they jumped that hurdle- which was not necessarily a price for oil hurdle or but was about this extension to avoid the Xianxang area and the inevitable Uighur attacks)In 2009, Beijing and Moscow signed a deal that Gazprom would supply China with 30 billion cubic meters of gas a year by 2015, but via the Altai pipeline, which would deliver gas to China’s Western Xinjiang province. Russia stopped work on this project in 2013 and prioritized the “Power of Siberia” line. If and when both pipelines are activated, Russia could be pumping 68 billion cubic meters of gas annually to China without suspension in delivery for 30 years.
