Today, October 8, the Aleppo-Salamiyeh road will be opened to civilians and convoys carrying supplies and fuel, ending the weeks-long siege imposed by opposition militants on the city. According to sources on the ground, the move will usher in a new phase of military operations in the city and surrounding areas.
First of all, derailing Obamacare is NOT the only thing Republican Teabaggers care about. Ted Cruz, in fact, has an entire vision for America's future that Maureen Dowd set out to explain in Sunday's NY Times. It may be a little dystopian but the low taxes crowd will love it nonetheless.
According to the agenda of an upcoming conference, three Nobel laureates will be participating. But only one of them is genuine.

Though the NSA’s vast data storage facility in Utah is now hardly a secret, new information has surfaced indicating widespread technical failures delaying its opening, including 10 “meltdowns” within the past 13 months.

AR5 Second Order Draft (SOD) Figures 1.4 and 1.5 showed the discrepancy between observations and projections from previous assessment reports. SOD Figure 1.5 (see below as annotated) directly showed the discrepancy for AR4 without additional clutter from earlier assessment reports. Even though AR4 was the most recent and most relevant assessment report, SOD Figure 1.5 was simply deleted from the report.

The Washington Times reports that since “Libya and the nation’s allies have questioned the legality of the U.S. operation” that captured a suspected al-Qaeda member, Secretary of State Kerry was prompted “to do some public relations damage control.”
In his damage control to justify the operations, Kerry said, “I think it’s important for people in the world not to sympathize with alleged terrorists but to underscore the importance of the rule of law.”

A Bahraini court jailed nine activists for life Monday after alleging that they made bombs for “terrorist” purposes, a judicial source said.
Four of the defendants were in court for the verdict and the remaining five, tried in absentia, were handed an 10 additional years in jail for failing to hand themselves in. Life imprisonment in Bahrain is a 25-year-sentence.

Havana – The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People”s Army (FARC-EP) insisted today on the need to reach an agreement and implement mechanisms to eliminate those factors that enable State terrorism, thus avoiding a post-conflict ”dirty war”.
Many commentators are welcoming the news that President Obama ordered special operations forces into Somalia and Libya to “capture” suspected terrorists because at least he didn’t drone bomb them instead.
Granted, capturing suspects with the intention of trying them in federal courts (at least eventually) is a welcome step back from what has been Obama’s predominant tactic for handling terror suspects abroad – to bomb them secretly with remote-controlled planes. But Obama’s newfound love for kill-capture missions has its own problems.
A number of Republican congressmembers have referred to their own colleagues as terrorists, not just privately, but for attribution. Devin Nunes famously called the teabaggers driving the GOP crazy train as "lemmings with suicide vests... They have to be more than just a lemming. Because jumping to your death is not enough," he said.

Shakespeare said ‘All the world is a stage’ but why do I have to be shamed by a President who plays the part of a buffoon in the final act of the play called world history. I knew when I was 8 years-old that I was born in a dying land. That is why I never married and had children. What’s the point? America was through. It had no future. Sure. Suicide bombers staged a horrific attack against a tiny village in northern Iraq. Meanwhile, Shi'ite pilgrims were again targeted in Baghdad. Overall, at least 64 people were killed and 192 more were wounded.
