MOSCOW: A senior Russian lawmaker bristled at Washington on Wednesday for its “silence” about the recent killing of hundreds of civilian Kurds by a jihadist rebel group linked to al-Qaida in Syria’s civil war.

One of the most frequently uttered fictions coming from Syria hawks is the claim that the Assad regime has slaughtered 100,000 Syrians. As Sen. John McCain has repeatedly yelped, “The fact is Bashar Assad has massacred 100,000 people.”

I'm not a big fan of obsessive focus on deficit reduction. I'd rather see the government investing in the country's future-- our people and our infrastructure. But the Obama Administration has successfully fought to cut the deficit at a faster rate than any other Administration since World War II. I don't blame just Obama. The Republicans have made a really bad situation much, much worse.

As we chase the latest headlines and grow dizzy from the daily crises of the Middle East, sometimes we overlook the persistent problems.  Perhaps the element of continuance makes them frustrating, perhaps just boring.  But to ignore the drip-drop of Israeli belligerence toward Lebanon is to shrug off the impunity by which it persists.

Yes, it does appear that an outright attack by the United States against the innocent nation of Syria has been delayed for the time being...

Some time ago, someone asked me to take a look at the new US Lockheed Martin designed and built Joint Strike Fighter, the F35, that many in the criminal US Government have haled as being the fighter plane of the future, and have decided to replace almost the entire existing inventory of US fighter planes with.  I periodically have read the reports in major online publications, and have looked at the aeronautics of this so called "fighter plane" and I am not impressed...
