Will Trump Leave ….the United States?

Of the 400 pages of the just released Mueller Report, one sentence stands out, and it was not pronounced by an investigator: When the appointment of the Special Counsel was announced, according to eye witnesses, the President shouted: “This is terrible! It’s the end of my presidency, I’m f’d!”.
The report respected the tradition that a sitting president cannot be indicted. However, he could be as soon as he leaves office; and meanwhile, he could be forced to leave by being impeached. Neither option is bound to attract a man used to gilded furniture. But there is a third option, the one suggested by Trump’s apparent recognition that his presidency is doomed: he could resign (leaving the reviled Vice-President Pence in charge) and flee to a friendly country. Although he has hotels in the far corners of the world, something tells me he would be most likely to choose Russia, where he’s been wanting to build a Trump Tower for years.
Journalists are now speculating that beyond messing with the 2016 election, the Russian government used Donald Trump as a pawn in its plan to undermine the United States by dividing its people. What no journalist has thus far mentioned is the fact that Trump’s adversary, Hillary Clinton, openly and on more than one occasion, warned President Putin that he’d better ‘behave’, at the risk of dire consequences for his country.
The most anyone will say about Trump’s opponent is: “She hates Putin because he allowed a big dog into the room during a meeting (she’s afraid of dogs)”. No one has mentioned Hillary’s bellicose speeches which are available on the internet. Worse, no one has mentioned the fact that they have already been partly implemented by NATO, by moving troops and tanks right up to Russia’s’ Western border, in violation of promises made to Gorbachev by the Bush campaign when the division of Europe came to an end.
Given these facts, if Vladimir Putin had done anything other than aide Hillary’s opponent in any way he could, he would have been derelict in his duty to protect the Russian people. But the American people will never know the real back story to the 2016 election. Donald Trump is the worst president the United States has ever had. He dismisses talk of global warming, but he prefers deals to war!
His saving grace is on display right now vis a vis North Korea: The ‘deep weapons-making state’ wants North Korea to give up its nuclear defense capability all at once, as a condition for fulfilling its pledge to deliver economic aide, in defiance of the basic rules of diplomacy. The reason why the standoff with North Korea has lasted for decades, is that Washington has never fulfilled its half of any bargain reached with that country. Most recently, knowing that the President agrees with the incremental quid pro quo proposed by Kim Jing Un, Secretary of States Pompeo crashed the Hanoi meeting to ensure this didn’t become US policy. No wonder Kim announced last week that he doesn’t want Pompeo around at future meetings!
Donald Trump has always behaved like a mob boss , and he is finally reaping the consequences. However, the reason why the real US government is doing all it can to get him out of the White House is that he doesn’t want war, which would inevitably be nuclear.
The Mueller Investigation isn’t about the sanctity of American elections, it’s about getting rid of the only person who has tried to halt the implementation of the nineteen-nineties Wolfowitz National Security Doctrine according to which the US must use every means to prevent any nation from being in a position to challenge its world hegemony.
Given all the crazy things we have witnessed since Trump took office, the idea that he could request asylum from President Putin is not so far-fetched. He would be likely to build his Moscow Tower, but no matter how the American press would spin the story, he’s unlikely to be capable of providing him with valuable information, since he doesn’t read reports. The most he could do would be to offer him gilded furniture.
