Will Trump's Handlers Successfully Persuade Him Not To Throw His Spaghetti On The Wall Before The Debate Ends?
Trump likes to reassure his dumbell fans that he's in the fraternity of top business leaders. But he's a joke in the business world and, as the Wall Street Journal pointed out Friday, not a single Fortune 100 CEO is backing him, or at least not contributing to his campaign.

Is India Leaning West?
In light of the struggle between the USA and PRC for influence in Southeast Asia, which has aggravated in recent years, other major players of the region are acquiring particular importance as they are able to tip the balance in one way or another. The main players in question are the Asian giants such as India and Japan. The situation with Japan is quite clear – historically, it hasn’t enjoyed the most friendly relations with China, and in case of a conflict, it has nobody to rely on except America.

The splendid piece on John le Carré is part of an embarrassment of riches in the new NYRB
The new NYRB has a terrific review-essay by Neal Ascherson on John le Carré, described by his new biographer, Adam Sisman, as "one of the most important English writers of the post-war period." To me this kind of understates le Carré's importance as a writer, but hey, that's me.by KenThe new (October 13) issue of The New York Review of Books was in the mailbox yesterday, and such free time as I've had since then has been heavily absorbed by an issue overf

Introducing the Military-Industrial-Elementary School Complex
Today’s highlighted article was published last month, but I didn’t read it at the time and I’m guessing you didn’t either.
What’s so uniquely tragic about the the intrusion of the police state into America’s schools, is it appears the parents themselves are the ones demanding it. This is in contrast to an overbearing surveillance state implemented by government in secret, as well as by private corporations via lengthy terms of service agreements nobody actually reads. -

Northerntruthseeker Rant For Sunday, September 25th, 2016
Yes... It is Sunday again... And that means it is once again time for my weekly rant....OK, Lets once again get the facts straight right here... I am in NO way a supporter of Donald Drumpf when I state that the Democratic demonic candidate for the Presidency, the inhuman and mass murdering freak of nature, Hillary "Killary" Clinton, is possibly the WORSE candidate imaginable for the ignorant American people to vote for this November....

ClandesTime 085 – WW2 Spies and Hyperreality - Spy Culture
Mutt and Jeff were a pair of Norwegian double agents during WW2, named after the popular cartoon characters. They played a crucial role in deceiving the Nazi intelligence apparatus by taking part in false flag sabotage and deception operations. Several of these operations have very curious codenames including Operation GUY FAWKES and Operation BUNBURY. In this episode I dwell on the relevance of MI5 operations sourcing their codenames from historical and fictional figures.

Corbyn Wins Challenge From The U.K.'s Version Of The Blue Dogs And New Dems-- The Conservative Wing Of The Labour Party
Today, Jeremy Corbyn's 62% win was bigger than his original victory as leader of Britain's Labour Party-- 313,209 to 193,229 votes-- much to the chagrin of the establishment conservatives (and their media allies) who hold the progressive Corbyn in contempt and view him with disdain and hatred. They are England's version of the New Dems and Blue Dogs and they got their asses kicked by Labour's grassroots.
