In the West, journalists are usually threatened with jail rather than assassination, which can be a risk in some countries around the world, but nevertheless there is a lot of fear which is ‘corrosive’ and ‘damages the capacity of the press to serve democracy.’

It was not pencils and pens – let alone ideas – that left Iraq, Gaza and Afghanistan shattered and hundreds of thousands of human beings dead. Not twelve. Hundreds of thousands. All with stories, with lives, with families. Tens of millions who have lost friends, family, homes and watched their country be torn apart.

The terrorist attack in France that took place at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo was not about free speech. It was not about radical Islam. It did not illustrate the fictitious clash of civilizations. It was a harbinger of an emerging dystopia where the wretched of the earth, deprived of resources to survive, devoid of hope, brutally controlled, belittled and mocked by the privileged who live in the splendour and indolence of the industrial West, lash out in nihilistic fury.
High-level, calculated leak from "Justice Department" late last Friday exposes internal fight over charging David Petraeus with leaking classified info.....

RT | January 12, 2015 The Ukrainian army will take part in 11 international military drills this year to bolster NATO standards in troops. Despite economic crisis, Kiev will still use 5.2 percent of its 2015 budget on the army. Ukrainian servicemen will appear at seven military drills in Europe, while four maneuvers will be […]
One of the low points for Mitt Romney in his forever campaign for the presidency was the juxtaposition between him hiring illegal aliens and then him pandering the the vilest segments of the GOP Know Nothing base with his self-deportation screed. And one of the low points for Republican voters-- at least in 2012-- was a GOP debate audience booing Rick Perry for advocating educating DREAMers. This week ABC News and the Washington Post released a national poll on immigration reform.

Yes, it is Monday... And you are not seeing a typo here... I am late this week in doing my rant, and I want to thank everyone for their patience..I came down late last Thursday with what I thought would be just a bit of a head cold.. BUT instead it got progressively worse and by Friday I knew I had a severe case of Influenza... I did everything, and I do mean everything this time around to try to prevent my catching "the Flu", including taking large amounts of Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and even Oil of Oregano... But no dice...

By Rasha B. Foda • SHAREverything • January 12, 2015 It is no small irony that the West, who now so vociferously speak against the so-called “intolerance of Islam” (while practicing their own censorship), should seek comfort and support from Israelis, of all people, who now too eagerly sing the hymns of free speech, while being one of the most egregious perpetrators of violence […]

Hayat Boumeddiene, the so called ‘white widow’ crosses into Syria ?I spent a pile of time reading up on this Hayat person & the story of her entering Syria...My conclusion? Not a bit of this narrative is credible. Not one little bit of it!Let's start with the images being provided to us by the war mongering media? Look below at the alleged image of Hayat?I cannot tell what this woman in the pic really looks like!
One of the most popular media personalities in New Hampshire alterted me to a hot local story about Ann Kuster recently, commenting that Kuster is "merely a disingenuous politician who thinks we won't look behind the curtain." One doesn't have look to far behind too many curtains to see what's amiss here. First, though, keep a few facts in mind.
By Kevin Ryan | Dig Within | January 11, 2015 Mainstream media are busily promoting a familiar narrative for last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris. As usual this narrative demonizes Islam, calls for a reduction in civil rights, and bolsters existing military aggressions. However, a growing number of serious questions have arisen about the attacks. […]

This points right at - what else - blowback. Yes, they could be Daesh/ISIS/ISIL mercenaries trained by NATO (crucially, France included) in Turkey and/or Jordan. But it might get even false-flag nastier. They could also be former or current French special forces.

Press TV – January 11, 2015 Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has rejected as “ridiculous” a report by the website of Germany’s Der Spiegel weekly claiming that Tehran is helping Syria build nuclear weapons. For more than three decades, the United States and its European allies have committed one fundamental error after another in the process of creating a commonly held narrative that Iran was secretly pursuing a nuclear weapons program. The story of how suspicions of the Iranian program hardened into convictions is a cautionary tale of political […]
The criminal attack by Islamic radicals on the offices of French satire magazine Charlie Hebdo and murder of 17 people, including the magazine’s editor-in-chief, cartoonists, and other staff members, has shocked the world, and rightly so. There is no justification whatsoever for such a crime, even though the magazine had indeed published what many consider […]
It was only natural that "world leaders" would place themselves at the head of the Paris "unity" demonstration held to express outrage at the vicious Charlie Hebdo murders. Daniel Wickham, a student at the London School of Economics, compiled a list of the enemies of free speech who elbowed their way to the head of […]
The NarrativeThe official narrative has been produced, ready for mass consumption. Two men brandishing balaclavas, military fatigues, armed with AK-47’s, a shotgun, and an RPG launcher, walked into the wrong address first before finding the proper Charlie Hebdo building, and then subsequently proceeded to brutally murder a total of 12 people, including 2 police officers, one allegedly shot at point-blank range. Despite these missteps, the fact that they had timed their meeting to coincide with the publications editorial meeting,

By Jonathan Latham, PhD By conventional wisdom it is excellent news. Researchers from Iowa have shown that organic farming methods can yield almost as highly as pesticide-intensive methods. Other researchers, from Berkeley, California, have reached a similar conclusion. Indeed, both findings met with a very enthusiastic reception. The enthusiasm is appropriate, but ...
My regular readers are familiar with that quote from Dr Steve Keen: The US and the UK are headed to the worst Depression in 500 years because we have more Unpayable Debts to cancel than at anytime in five centuries. I know how to exit that misery which otherwise could involve the deaths of a billion or more people. But free speech is only allowed for people who get CIA subsidies to make pornographic cartoons insulting the Pope and Mohammed.
People who actually know how to save humanity must be hounded into the dark alleys of human life.

As usual this narrative demonizes Islam, calls for a reduction in civil rights, and bolsters existing military aggressions. Until such questions are answered, citizens must consider that these events might be another pretext for an ongoing political agenda.
By Brandon Martinez | Non-Aligned Media | January 11, 2015 The “Islamists” strike again – at least that’s what those who stand behind the latest outrage in Paris want us to believe. This is an unexpected situation that I am not accustomed to... I am still under the weather, and therefore for the first time in years, my usual "Sunday rant" will be delayed for hopefully only one day...As I stated in the previous note... I came down with a severe case of Influenza that has absolutely knocked me for a loop... I presently have one heck of a fever, and I find even typing this one note to be excruciatingly painful...I will be working on my rant the moment I get better... Again, thanks for your patience..More to comeNTS
