RT | January 21, 2017 Most economists are good with numbers. It is, after all, a prerequisite skill for the profession. Thus, it’s somewhat ironic that a publication called The Economist would be so inept with figures. However, it’s likely the numerical errors in their latest RT demolition piece are more the result of a […]

The Russians have taken their first practical step to challenge the previously undisputed authority of the European Court of Human Rights (“ECHR”) on Russian legal decisions.
The liberal left is freaking out about Trump’s inauguration speech. They are referencing “Hitler” (of course), calling it a “declaration of war”, and saying Trump was “belligerent”
We found nothing wrong with the speech. It was short, honest and simple. This is Trump’s marketing genius.
UK scientists say a first-ever long-term study shows popular weed-killer Roundup caused severe liver damage in rats
Once a dog, always a dog..and while we cannot confirm, former US President Bill Clinton is checking out someone or something pretty intensely.
Social media is on fire, speculating that, that someone is Ivanka Trump.
Who really knows what is going on in Bill Clinton’s head (big and little), but Hillary sure gives him that “stop checking her out” look.
Sputnik | January 21, 2017 In December, Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk wrote an explosive op-ed in The Wall Street Journal, laying out how Ukraine can end its conflict with Russia. Pinchuk’s plan is simple: Kiev must close its eyes on Crimea, proceed with elections in Donbass, and forget NATO. Unfortunately, elites in Kiev see his […]
Three days ago, The Duran contributor Andrew Korybko wrote an excellent piece focusing on the latest round of Cypriot reunification talks, which seek to resolve the island’s near 43 year division.
To get a better understanding for what’s at stake we highly recommend reading Andrew’s post linked here.

Americans fought an eight-year war of liberation against not only the most powerful monarchy on Earth in 1775 but against monarchy itself. Yet once the dust settled and it was time to write a Constitution, compromises left America a legacy of monarchy now gone from most of Europe.
Among the kingly powers still residing in the American presidency are the pardon, the veto and the title Commander-in-Chief. Add to that list the Inaugural celebration we just witnessed in Washington, D.C. None of this has any place in a democracy.
Many people who are on the right side of the multi-polarity debate are worried about Trump’s relationship to many countries and global issues.
With that in mind, here is your Pessimists Guide to Donald Trump.
China
Right now China holds the American economy by a vice for two reasons: 1. The American market place is heavily reliant on Chinese manufacturing of Chinese products and products owned by American and European companies. 2. American and Chinese currencies are inter-dependent.

The Washington Post & New York Times Are “Disappointed” in Trump’s Inaugural Address
The Post and Times are beside themselves over President Trump’s forceful attack on the
rapacious and immoral American Ruling Establishment for whom the two pretend newspapers are such faithful servants.
By Finian CUNNINGHAM | Strategic Culture Foundation | 21.01.2017 Britain’s divisive Brexit politics are playing out through the new US presidency of Donald Trump. It seems that a faction within the British political establishment which is opposed to Britain leaving the European Union has joined forces with American intelligence counterparts to hamper Trump’s new administration. […]
Even as he was assembling and deploying an American kakistocracy and calling it his administration, there were people of goodwill urging everyone to just wait and be open-minded and see if Trump didn't turn out to be an OK president. "After all," one of that tribe told me several times, "he was a liberal Democrat most of his life." Nah...

Putin will call and congratulate Trump as a matter of “protocol necessity”, Peskov said [PPIO]
A Kremlin spokesperson said on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will soon speak by phone with US President Donald Trump.
Dmitry Peskov told local news media that Putin will congratulate Trump on the inauguration and likely discuss a meeting between the two to be held in a few months time.
US media had speculated that Trump would meet with Putin as early as a matter of weeks. But Peskov said that no date had yet been scheduled.
Obama’s legacy is measured in ashes. From wars of aggression to a police state on steroids, banking bailouts and Obamacare, Obama has been the perfect captain to carry the New World Order football further down the field. But as Americans prepare for a new liner to be placed in their gilded bird cage, today we remember how the Deep State tricked the public in 2008 by giving them what they thought they wanted.
Julian Assange has clarified his remarks stating that he would accept extradition to the US in the event of Bradley/Chelsea Manning receiving clemency from former President Obama.
As I predicted when the story broke, Manning’s eventual freedom (May of this year) will begin a negotiating process between Julian Assange’s lawyers at President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice, who will hopefully be more sympathetic to Assange than Obama’s people who more or less wanted Assange dead one way or another.
Hillary Clinton stated that she sought to execute Assange with a drone.
Inauguration speeches are supposed to be about how perfect America is.
Inauguration speeches are also supposed to be about how American can be even more perfect under the leadership of the new President.
Inauguration speeches are supposed to be pompous, vague and full of platitudes.
It’s kinda sneaking up on us like an East Texas copperhead pit viper. It began to get some wide attention in 2016, with prominent economists and financial media suddenly talking about the wonderful benefits of a “cashless society.” Then the government of Narenda Modi completely surprised his citizens by suddenly announcing withdrawal of larger denomination currency notes from circulation, forcing Indians to put their cash into banks or lose it.
UN Special Envoy De Mistura says he hopes the talks in Astana will create positive momentum leading up to the UN-sponsored talks in Geneva in two weeks [Xinhua]
A flurry of diplomatic activity has preceded the anticipated Syria peace talks in the Kazakh capital Astana, which begin on January 23.
A number of diplomats and foreign dignitaries participating in the talks, as well as hundreds of journalists, have descended on the city.
UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura said he supports the Astana initiative.

The minister’s statement, however, sounds a little bit strange, since throughout the Syrian conflict, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states have been providing comprehensive assistance to Islamic State terrorists, supplying weapons, equipment, and mercenaries to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. There is undeniable evidence of these “acts of good will” on behalf of Saudi Arabia.

What is wrong with Canada? It’s the massive landmass sitting atop the United States that has great potential. But despite her capability to support industrial and civic growth, Canada just maintains the status quo, being a mediocre nation licking the boots of great western powers. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s taking his post was enough of a harbinger, but his more recent foreign relations only make things worse.

Heading into the elections in November, the Democrats held 8 of the 35 seats in the South Dakota state Senate. On November 8, they held 6 seats (and none of the 6 had been contested by the GOP). And of the 70 members of the state House, only 10 are Democrats. Every statewide elected official is a Republican and the 3 members of South Dakota's congressional delegation are also Republicans. Trump beat Hillary 227,721 (61.5%) to 117,458 (31.7%). In 2012 Romney won the state, but Obama did far better than Clinton, having taken 144,988 votes (40%).

Threats to journalism and journalistic autonomy come in many forms. At the most extreme, journalists are directly threatened, intimidated and, all too frequently, harmed by political actors seeking to influence the ‘information environment’.
