Musk has the money to make his ideas a reality.
In the following video, billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk discusses his plans for Space X’s mission to Mars, the potential for an A.I. takeover of humanity, and even the possibility that we are all living in a simulated reality.
Musk also addresses rumours that he wishes to live out his final days on Mars himself:
“If you’re going to choose a place to die, then Mars is not a bad choice,”
Musk’s comments on the theory that we are living in a simulated reality are easily the most intriguing of all:
“The strongest argument for us probably being in a simulation I think is the following:”
“40 years ago we had Pong – two rectangles and a dot. That’s where we were.”
“Now 40 years later we have photorealistic, 3D simulations with millions of people playing simultaneously and it’s getting better every year. And soon we’ll have virtual reality, we’ll have augmented reality.”
“If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then the games will become indistinguishable from reality, just indistinguishable.”
“It would seem to follow that the odds that we’re in ‘base reality’ is one in billions.”
