Diplomatic sources in Russia say that those who are expecting a military strike against Syria will have to wait a little longer, predicting a fight at the UN Security Council before Washington sends its Tomahawks over Damascus.

House Armed Services Committee Chairman and founder/chairman of the congressional Drone Caucus Buck McKeon is always boosting wars on behalf of the arms manufacturers who are fianncing his career and his family's wealth. (They have a lobbying firm working with war industries.) His hatred and disrespect for President Obama, on the other hand, sometimes gets him in a muddle.
A fresh series of bombs struck in Baghdad and nearby suburbs. At least 99 people were killed and another 266 were wounded. Several of the blasts occurred within minutes of each other suggesting coordination among the bombers. Even the Interior Minister admitted that hundreds were wounded, even if he was short on the number of fatalities. Meanwhile, the Iraqi government in on high alert over impending strikes by the West against Syria and has tightened security in border areas.
I am truly hoping today that the rush to war by the criminals in both the United States and Israel can be averted., and very quickly...

I was floored by President Obama's speech a few minutes ago. I was driving in my car and listening to the radio intently. Sometimes I had to fight back the tears. I'm in a funny place. I can feel proud I voted for this man, albeit reluctantly, in 2008. But I can also feel proud I voted for a third party candidate in 2012 against this same man who has proposed Chained CPI and who's about to start bombing Syria.
Whether its components were high-grade or OTC, it seems increasingly likely that some kind of chemical agent was recently deployed in Syria on a fairly large scale.
Without whistleblowers, the mainline media outlets are more transfixed than ever with telling the official story. And at a time like this, the official story is all about spinning for war on Syria.
Every president who wants to launch another war can’t abide whistleblowers. They might interfere with the careful omissions, distortions and outright lies of war propaganda, which requires that truth be held in a kind of preventative detention.
Back in 2007, Presidential candidate Joe Biden (now Obama’s VP) was crystal clear about what to do if The President attacks a country that didn’t threaten us without Congressional approval – impeach him.
His 6-year-old warning is completely appropriate to apply to the current president. Watch the video.

MOSCOW: Moscow hoped a “war of civilizations” in Syria could be avoided, despite the fact Western powers had been moving along that path, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.
From the New York Times online, Aug. 28: Syria’s ambassador to the United Nations, Bashar Jaafari repeated the Syrian government’s denials that it had ever used chemical weapons in the conflict with the insurgents, and said the accusations were a conspiracy by Western nations acting on Israel’s behalf.The ambassador rejected assertions by the United States, Britain and other Western allies that there was persuasive evidence of Syrian government culpability in the use of the banned weapons.Mr. Jaafari added a new level of complexity to the issue on Wednesday, Aug.
The Obama administration’s case for war against Syria is incredibly thin. That is unsurprising. What is a little bit surprising is that they’re not really even trying to make it more compelling.
Republican House Whip Kevin McCarthy used to be in a safe Central Valley red seat. CA-23 shares Bakersfield with Republican David Valadao, Lancaster with Republican Buck McKeon and Visalia with Republican Devin Nunes. Valadao and McKeon are likely to be serving their last terms as Members of Congress now and the demographic changes in their districts have already started changing McCarthy's as well.
