What does the “Jeremy Corbyn phenomenon” represent?

Above all else, what has been proved by the bitter experience made by Greek workers with Syriza is that it is impossible to defend anything—jobs, wages, essential social services—without breaking the stranglehold of the financial oligarchy over economic and political life. It demands the independent political mobilisation of the working class against the major corporations and banks and their government.

The Refugees Are Coming!!!

I don’t really know, I don’t understand how it feels: to live in a rich European country, which is rich mainly because it has been directly plundering many poor nations around the world. Or it has been plundering by association, through its membership in some extremist organization like NATO. To live there, refusing to acknowledge why it is rich, how it became rich.
Palaces, theatres, railroads, hospitals and parks in that rich country are built on broken skeletons and restless specters, on lakes of blood and shameless theft.

Whitewash – The Guardian Readers’ Editor Responds On Jeremy Corbyn

As one reads through the hundreds of articles mentioning the four Labour candidates, it becomes overwhelmingly clear that serious, much less harsh, criticism of the New Labour triumverate is not on the agenda. It just becomes obvious that there are no forces within the Guardian willing to support such a focus.

Has Jeremy Corbyn Started the Political Conversation that England Needs?

Ever since the Scottish Independence Referendum campaign I have been envying the Scots for the liveliness and engagement of their political thought and conversation and wondering how the phlegmatic English could be prodded into really thinking about the politics that run this country.  The answer appears to be Jeremy Corbyn.

Corbyn moment – never a better time to expose the Guardian

Befitting his own campaign for a new, healthy and open politics, Corbyn can only but welcome more critical scrutiny of a media that's urged people to support 'sensible' New Labourism, kept readers in step with 'neoliberal reality' and waged such a campaign of hostility towards Corbyn himself. And remember, this is not just the right wing press, it's the Guardian, Independent and others claiming to be serious about progressive change.

The Brookings Institute Plan to Liquidate Syria

There’s going to be US boots on the ground in Syria. You can bet on it. While it’s okay to deploy the jihadi cannon fodder to lead the charge and “soften up” the enemy; eventually, you have to send in the A Team to seal the deal. That means special forces, a countrywide no-fly zone, forward operating bases, and a ginned-up propaganda campaign aimed at convincing the sheeple that Syria must be destroyed in order to defend US national security. All of this will unfold in Phase 2 of the Syria war fiasco which is about to intensify by many orders of magnitude.

UK Labour Party: A Sad End or a Bold New Beginning?

  •  Are Corbyn+Galloway the dream ticket to previously-unreachable ‘sunlit uplands’ of British politics?
  • Would they present  a much needed double-barrel warning to the warmongers of Tel Aviv and AIPAC’s lackeys in Washington?
  • Could they clean out Westminster’s snake-pit and put Britain’s industries and workers  first?

UK Labour Party bosses are on a suicide mission to block support for its most likely saviour, Jeremy Corbyn, who has emerged as the front-runner in the leadership contest.
