Siversky Donets – Donbas canal stopped again
The Siversky Donets – Donbas canal shutdown has again left several populated areas in the Donetsk region without water, the Donetsk mayor’s office said on its website.
The Voda Donbasu (Water of Donbas) utility has reported that after a 35-kilowatt power line was damaged near Mayorsk, the third-tier pumping station of the Siversky Donets – Donbas canal was paralyzed. Water is being supplied to Donetsk and Makiyivka in smaller amounts than usual. Krasnoarmiysk, Selydove, Dymytrov and Novohrodivka are cut off from water supplies.
There is no water in Avdiyivka, either, as the Donetsk filtering station is not working. Consumers are not receiving water in Torez. Water supplies to Shakhtarsk have been irregular, since the Novostozhkivsky water canal went idle.
Water is not being supplied to Vuhledar, Volnovakha and Novotroitske. Dokuchayevsk is receiving part of the water from local springs.
The ongoing counterterrorist operation has been obstructing repair efforts, the press service said.
