According to reports, US helicopters attacked a Syrian army checkpoint in the village of Tal Dahab, near the city of Qamishli in northeastern Syria on Monday.
According to a report from Syrian state agency SANA, the US military has killed one Syrian Army soldier and injured two others.
Currently, the US are backing the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in order to illegally occupy Syrian land and deprive the country of accessing its own oil supply in Northeastern Syria in violation of international law.
The US attack came after a US occupation patrol was prevented from passing through a Syrian Army checkpoint,
The US claimed they were carrying out a “routine patrol against ISIS.”
Some US reports state that US forces were allowed safe passage by the SAA, but “the patrol then came under small arms fire from the vicinity of the checkpoint and returned fire.”
There were no casualties reported among US forces.
“Members of a US patrol have opened several rounds of fire …. after about 30 minutes, two US warplanes attacked the (Syrian) army personnel at this checkpoint.”
Injured Syrian soldiers were later rushed to the Qamishli National Hospital.
Syrian-British independent journalist Richard Medhurst gives a brief summary of the incident and the events leading up to it. Watch:
