The same militant group that has formerly been praised for fighting Daesh (ISIS) as an oppressed minority in Syria may be committing ethnic cleansing of its own.
Two days ago photos on Twitter showed a mass exodus of Arabs stranded on the Turkish border after leaving the Hasakah province, as buildings in the background went up in flames. Reports said the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), an ally of the Western-backed Free Syrian Army, was to blame, allegedly razing 10,000 homes in Arab villages near Kurdish-controlled territory.
Thousand of Arabs flee from Kurdish fighters in Syria's north
Thousands of Sunni Arab civilians in northern Syria are reportedly fleeing their homes to avoid attacks by Kurdish fighters in what is described as an apparent ethnic cleansing campaign.
A report in The Times newspaper on Monday said that Kurdish fighters have been "burning Arab villages" in areas they control around Kobane as part of a campaign against local Arabs.
The article alleges that members of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), a close ally of the West in the fight against Isis, are carrying out the attacks.
Accusations by Arab villagers that YPG fighters had killed 20 civilians, and bulldozed and burnt homes in Syria's al-Hasakah province, close to Kobane.

Arab sources told Australia's The Times that Kurdish militants had burned their houses down and threatened to kill them if they didn't leave. Some said the YPG blamed Sunni Arabs for supporting the regime.
"The YPG said to us: ‘We will shoot at your children, and you will die if you stay here,'" Syrian Arab Mohammed Salih al-Katee told The Times. “I saw one of them writing on our wall: ‘YPG don’t forget, don’t forgive.'”
If true, it wouldn't be the first time Arabs have said the Kurdish fighters destroyed their homes; the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported witnesses saying Kurds killed 20 Arabs and burned homes down near Kobani last month.
How many of these are Assyrian villages? I reported in the first flashback linked below that the Kurds had taken 14 Assyrian villages- No word on the status of the Assyrians- Had they fled previously? If so were their villages burned to ensure they never come back as the Kurds take territory and ethnically cleanse the Assyrians and their history
