Is The Trump Administration Already Over?

Hopes for the Trump administration are not burning brightly. Trump’s military chief, Gen. Mattis, is turning out to be true to his “mad dog” nickname. He has just declared that Iran “is the single biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.” https://sputniknews.com/politics/201702041050338034-mattis-iran-terrorism/
He has declared Russia to be the number one threat to the US.
The resilience of the US legal system is being tested in the first great and continuing confrontation between the Trump administration and his marshalled opponents. The battle is testing the Republic to its limits, pitting views of sovereign will and legality against each other with near unprecedented viciousness. The wail on the part of the Trump administration is that of[Read More...]
On Friday, Federal District Judge James Robart entered an order halting the enforcement of President Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim travel ban, which has prompted large protests across the US and worldwide. The Trump administration has responded by filing an immediate appeal, arguing that the judge’s order violates a “fundamental sovereign attribute” of the president. Robart’s order was entered in a lawsuit[Read More...]
There are a lot of Republicans wishing Trump hadn't gone on O'Reilly's show and created the impression of moral equivalency between Putin's fascist regime in Russia and our own country.Like many vulnerable Rep[ublican members of Congress, Wisconsin freshman Mike Gallagher panicked and immediately tried distancing himself from Trump. Yesterday Mitch McConnell was on CNN's State of the Union where he tried distancing himself-- and thereby Senate Republicans-- from Trump's statement about Putin and Russia.
Ever since tensions again escalated between the government of Myanmar and the Rohingya people on October 2016 and the reinvigorated persecution of the minority group that followed, thousands of Rohingyas have fled to Bangladesh — the United Nations humanitarian office’s most recent estimate is 69,000. Scores of them have, meanwhile, been seen begging on the streets between Ukhia and Tekhnaf[Read More...]

Chile is facing one of the worst forest fires in its history. The worst hit areas are O’Higgins, Maule, Biobio and La Araucana, all located in the extreme south of the country, where in addition to small Mapuche farming communities, there are large forestry companies. The Twentieth Day in January was published in 1980 and tells the story of an MI6 officer discovering that the Russian government is blackmailing the incoming president. In this subscriber-only podcast we take a look at the book and dwell a little on its implications, and I offer my views on why the whole Trump-Russia-Dossier nonsense has so quickly fallen from the media spotlight.
CNN’s Christiane Amanpour didn’t look too happy while interviewing France’s presidential frontrunner Marine Le Pen over the weekend. Amanpour interrupted Le Pen 5 times in a 3-minute segment and was clearly irritated by her objections to the fake news narrative on Ukraine and Crimea.
Here is how the conversation went:

Many liberals and feminists, including celebrities, athletes, and famous people (clearly much smarter than the rest of us) have promised to leave the U.S. if ‘The Donald’ was elected President of the United States.
Well, Donald Trump has officially taken his rightful place in the Oval Office, yet so many of those who promised to leave the U.S. – are, well…still here…
For reference, here’s a list of some of those celebrities:
The Obama Administration, with the help of the CIA and main stream media, cleverly diluted the fact they they violently overthrew the democratically elected government in Ukraine, and encouraged the illegal, putsch government to attack its own citizens in the east of the country.
Oliver Stone was never fooled by Obama’s Ukraine game, which resulted in the former POTUS getting outplayed in Crimea by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As was reported earlier by The Duran’s Alex Christoforou, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly interviewed President Donald Trump before the Super Bowl. During that interview, Bill O’Reilly asked if POTUS Trump respects Russian President Vladimir Putin. Unsatisfied with Trump’s positive response, O’Reilly blurted out an insult, calling the Russian President “a killer”.

The short answer is it’s too soon to tell. His Office of the Press Secretary claims otherwise, saying “(i)n only two weeks, President Trump delivers on his promise to make America safe again.” It cites Iranian sanctions along with putting Tehran on notice “for provocative action in violation of its international obligations.”
Let’s face it: since 9/11 everything in our American world has been wildly out of proportion. Understandably enough, at the time that attack was experienced as something other than it was. Iran test-fired a missile and the U.S. government went ballistic. It put Iran ‘on notice’ — a phrase meaning little but with a distinct menace. Rummaging around in the Obama administration files, the new arrivals soon discovered well-prepared plans for sanctions should Iran’s actions displease.
