Det här är en film som jag och mina kompisar såg många gånger på 80-talet. Jag tänkte inte på den här skräckkomedin som en julfilm förrän ganska nyligen. Vi gillade de elaka och coola små gröna varelserna – gremlinerna – som härjade i småstaden Kingston Falls. Julen utgjorde en kuliss som man inte ägnade så mycket uppmärksamhet. När jag nu ser om den är det tvärtom: gremlinernas upptåg intresserar mig inte, däremot stämningen, kostymerna och tidsandan. På Internet ser jag att filmen numera räknas som en julklassiker.
