We have all now been made aware that claims of a coordinated Syrian/Russian move into Idlib were false.

Following up from today's earlier post- It's a must read if your watching the Idlib situation via the many, many media reports.

The Russian Defense Ministry revealed reliable information confirming that terrorist organizations in Idleb have completed all preparations to stage and film a new chemical incident  in order to blame the Syrian Arab Army.

Igor Konashenkov said Saturday that the Ministry has information confirming that a meeting took place in Idleb city between leaders of terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra and the “Turkistani Party” and representatives of the “White Helmets.”

My impressions based on the earliest news reports from the Astana 3/Tripartite Summit is that the status quo (the existing state of affairs) will be maintained regarding Idlib.Instead of updating the previous post, Idlib Crunch Time: Kurds "renew" Claim for Idlib. Astana 3 in Iran- Staus Quo Or Escalation?, I've opted for an entirely new one. For now the status quo is the least worse option for Syria &the surrounding area. 

So, it's crunch time..Just going to do a roundup of news regarding Idllib, again. Including some coverage of the Astana partners meeting in Iran.First up...The Kurds have “Renewed their claim for Idlib” Do tell all the Arabs present that Idlib belongs to the Kurds.....

Damascus, SANA-A military source said on Tuesday that the army air defenses intercepted an Israeli aggression with warplanes that infiltrated on a low altitude from west of Beirut into the north targeting a number of military sites in Tartous and Hama.

The source added that the army air defenses downed a number of the hostile missiles and forced the attacking warplanes to flee.

The Astana 3 had agreed that Turkey would have a set amount of time to "convince” HTS to lay down arms. To not wage war against SAA. It's being reported that Turkey, last week, designated HTS a terror group. Which indicates a negotiations fail.Despite what some may think, this is quite likely, not a good sign for Idlib, Syria, Russia, Iran, Turkey,  civilians or the situation in Syria as it pertains to taking back the east. And that more smooth return I had hoped for!  -Not a perfect return. -Not a bloodless return.Since, that was never going to be the case.
