An Impossible Dream Coming True In South Jersey?
Grassroots candidates CAN smash the corrupt machineWhen I met Alex Law for the first time last year he seemed like a smart kid with a big dream and a lot of idealism and no money. He kind of reminded me of New Hampshire progressive activist Carol Shea-Porter, circa 2006-- a full decade ago. Carol had an impossible dream.
Public Reaches Breaking Point Point With TSA – #NewWorldNextWeek (Video)
Obama heads to Hiroshima to "pay respects"; DHS puts gas in the subway while the UK stages terror drills; and the public and the ports have had it with the TSA.
Guest Post By Jim Keady-- Why I Cannot "Just Do It" On Nike And The TPP
One of the issues that has united people across the political spectrum in this campaign cycle is the fact that for the past three decades the United States has signed onto trade policies that have crushed middle class workers and only benefited the uber-wealthy and giant multinational corporations. The most recent incarnation of these failed trade policies is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).While I agree with President Obama on a range of key issues (increasing access to healthcare, fighting to reverse climate change, etc.) on this issue we diff

With The Help Of Jim Kenney, Jersey's Boss Norcross Crosses The Delaware Into Philly
In effect, Jim Kenney was elected mayor of Philadelphia one year ago-- May 19, 2015. That was the day of the 6-way Democratic primary, when Kenney won with 55.8%. His closest rival, Anthony Williams got 26.1%. When November rolled around he beat Republican Melissa Lynn Bailey 85.4- 13.2%. DWT's infatuation with Kenney as a progressive champion was ill-advised and as short-lived as our infatuation with Bill de Blasio was.
New Jersey Cops Arrest Woman for Remaining Silent Before Reading Her Rights
New Jersey state police arrested a woman for exercising her Constitutional right to remain silent.
Or as they called it; “obstruction.”
But they were sure to inform Rebecca Musarra that she had the right to remain silent – once she was handcuffed and placed in the back of the patrol car.
She was then transported to a local police department, but released two hours later with no charges against her after a supervisor reviewed the footage and chalked it up to a rookie mistake.
The two arresting officer, Matthew Stazzone and Demetric Gosa, were hired in 2014.

No, Jim Keady Won't Sit Down And Shut Up
by Tracy B AnnJim Keady is running for Congress in New Jersey's 3rd district and despite Chris Christie's "request" for him to sit down and shut up when he was protesting for Superstorm Sandy victims, Jim Keady just isn't that kind of guy. He doesn't sit down and shut up when people need help and aren't getting it.Chris Christie wasn't home in New Jersey enough to realize what the victims of Sandy needed. If he cared he would have been there; Jim Keady was.
Alex Law: "There Is Nothing Wrong In Any Of Our Districts That Can't Be Fixed With What's Right In Our Districts"
The video just above is one of the best congressional campaign clips I've seen from anyone anywhere. Please watch it. June 7 is going to be another SuperTuesday, a congressional one. California, Iowa and New Jersey have red hot primaries pitting grassroots progressives like Lou Vince, Pat Murphy and Alex Law against establishment hacks like, respectively, Brian Caforio, Monica Vernon and Donald Norcross. South Dakota, New Mexico and Montana have primaries the same day but without the fiery contests. And Law's isn't the only congressional contest that needs to be watched in New Jersey.
