New Reports Suggest Libyan Warlord Khalifa Haftar is Working with Mossad

The stench of the CIA and its covert operations in oil-rich Libya has long followed General Khalifa Haftar. But now another intelligence organization is being tied to the controversial military officer as accusations of extensive dealings with the Mossad are being levied against him by an Israeli journalist, who claims that Haftar met with members of the Israeli outfit in Cairo from 2017 to 2019.

It’s often said that the EU plays no role whatsoever in the conflict in Libya and takes no side. And given that Italy, being the odd man in Europe, supports the incumbent government and its ragtag coalition of soldiers and militias it employs fighting under the so-called GNA – whereas most EU countries are more aligned to General Haftar (supported by Russia, Egypt, UAE and Saudi Arabia), it’s easy to see how the EU can’t take a single position.

Regardless of the UN arms embargo, yet more weapons are flowing into Libya, to both sides, following the assault on the capital by Field Marshall Khalifa Haftar’s Forces, started in early April, that now threatens to escalate into a full on proxy war between regional powers, expanding the intensity of the civil war expeditiously.
