RT reported on Wednesday September 5th that Russian military planes struck in Idlib province in Syria the day before. The targets were those of Jabhat al-Nusra, a.k.a. Tahrir al-Sham, the last major terrorist group operating in Syria.

WASHINGTON – As the Syrian government and its allies prepare to begin a military offensive against the last rebel-held province in the country, top U.S. government officials and even U.S. President Donald Trump have recently urged Syria to refrain from “recklessly” attacking the Idlib province, warning that it could result in a high civilian death toll. These recent statements of U.S.

The Russian Air Force has been relentlessly bombarding ‘rebel’ terrorist positions over the Idlib Governorate today, with powerful airstrikes on several jihadist controlled territories including those infested by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS).

Or is it the Battle for Idlib? And whose battle? And who is fighting who? And where?
The only thing that is clear about this seemingly upcoming battle is the fact that Idlib has been “used” as a sink hole and dumping ground for all anti-government/anti-Syria terrorists. Such a status quo cannot last.

On Friday, August 31st, the neoconservative US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said “The 3 million Syrians who have already been forced out of their homes and are now in #Idlib, will suffer from this aggression. Not good. The world is watching.”

It seems to happen just about every September and April over the past years: every time the Syrian proxy war seems to have receded from international media attention for a period of a long summer or a winter, a mass attention-grabbing event or massacre happens to suddenly yank the world’s (and the White House’s) focus right back on the war and a return to intervention and escalation mode. 
And curiously, this seems to occur the moment Assad and the Syrian Army alongside the Russians are on the path to overwhelming victory.
