The US news media perversely view the prospective liberation of millions of Syrians from a Turkish-backed Al Qaeda tyranny in Idlib as a humanitarian tragedy, betraying their allegiance to Washington’s geopolitical agenda and its aim of dominating every country in West Asia without exception, even if it means relying on Al Qaeda to accomplish its … Continue reading We should applaud the Syrian military’s actions in Idlib, not deplore them →

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 A.M.) – The Turkish-backed militants suffered a devastating defeat on Thursday when their forces attempted to retake the key town of Nayrab in eastern Idlib.

In December 2016, the Syrian Arab Army, Russia & allies liberated the northern Syrian city of Aleppo of the al-Qaeda and equally-heinous terrorists who had occupied and terrorized civilians in the city since 2012.
In the years subsequent, Aleppo to a large degree returned to peace, with rebuilding occurring in the hard-hit Old City, with displaced Syrians returning (contrary to the lies of UK Channel 4, among other war propagandizing media).
This week, Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, threatened Syria’s government led by President Bashar al-Assad, promising direct military action if any Turkish troops are killed or injured by the fighting which is escalating in the last major remaining terrorist stronghold in the Idlib province.
Once again, Turkey has upped the war rhetoric – this time threatening the Syrian military directly, and Russia by extension. As Damascus continues its advances toward liberating terrorist-occupied Idlib province, Turkey’s President Erdogan’s game of geopolitical backgammon in Syria will become increasingly problematic, not only for Turkey, but for the US as well.
21WIRE editor Patrick Henningsen spoke to RT News International about the increasingly risky situation that is presently unfolding in northern Syria. Watch:
The Duran’s Alex Christoforou and Editor-in-Chief Alexander Mercouris discuss a military operation by Syrian government forces that killed eight Turkish military personnel in Syria’s northwest Idlib region. The conflict between Syrian forces and Turkish troops has jeopardized the fragile Russian-Turkish truce in Idlib.
Turkish President Erdogan meanwhile was in Kiev, blasting Russia for its alleged “annexation” of Crimea, stating, “we fully support and will support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea.”
If you are viewing the situation in Syria through a western lens, then you might be looking at the world upside down and backwards. Such is the degree of distortion by the west, as narrative managers in politics, media, and NGOs work overtime to try and convince a clueless western public that the terrorists occupying the de facto Islamic State of Idlib – are really just democracy-loving ‘freedom fighters.’
