Homicide Rate

Author Heather MacDonald reported that Blacks die of homicide at a rate 13 times that of Whites and most of them are committed by Black civilians, not police. Last year, 18 unarmed Blacks were killed by police, which is two-tenths of one percent of Blacks who died of homicide last year.

Crime escalated because police who normally would have been patrolling neighborhoods were pulled off the beat to secure downtown areas targeted by looters. In Chicago, May 31 marked the single deadliest 24-hour period in 60 years, with 18 people killed.

In New York city, black people are 38 times more likely to commit murder and 51 times more likely to engage in shootings when compared to the white population. [...]
