Well, it looks like the Resistance’s long-anticipated “Second Civil War” has finally begun … more or less exactly on cue. Rioting has broken out across the nation. People are looting and burning stores and attacking each other in the streets. Robocops are beating, tear-gassing, and shooting people with non-lethal projectiles.
Over the past few months, the latest in a long history of extrajudicial killings of Black Americans has claimed the lives of three people: Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year old man gunned down in February by a gang of armed white men who chased him through a South Georgia neighborhood; Breonna Taylor, massacred in her own home by police officers who were serving a no-knock warrant on her apartment last March in relation to a drug case that had nothing to do with the budding 26-year old
By now, there are thousands of media images and scenes from protests and mob lootings across the US following the in-custody death of 46 year-old George Floyd last Monday. Here is one video scene captured by an Australian news channel on assignment in Minneapolis on Friday which shows the crowd dynamics and interactions between police and protesters – and also just how easily tensions can accelerate once a relatively minor incident begins to escalate.

Just as the US economy was beginning to reemerge after ten weeks of COVID-19 lockdown across the country, the recent spate of protests, now retailers and restaurants across the country have had to close their doors again for fear of rioting mobs.
With most of country still under ‘lockdown’ orders or just coming out their shutdown – the people were primed for an exposition on the streets.
The protests against police brutality, which have gripped the nation as a result of the police murder of George Floyd, reached the capital of Texas on Saturday as thousands of mostly young and outraged Austin residents of all colors flooded one of the city’s most vital arteries, taking over I-35 just where it overlooks Austin Police Department (APD) headquarters and blocking traffic until police were able to get them off.
The murder of George Floyd one week ago by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has sparked national and international protests, as millions have expressed their outrage over what they see as a racist and deadly policing system. But many in the political establishment are claiming that much of the crisis has been manufactured by powerful enemy nations, especially Russia.

George Floyd had no chance! The gang of state sponsored assassins had already signed his death warrant!
They think we should be grateful for watered down justice that has not and will never be color blind!
Cry out! Resist! Don’t make excuses or apologies for race-based killings!
Don’t attack those who dare to put their lives on the line to declare: George Floyd’s life mattered. Black Lives Matter—a just demand!

The nationwide uprising sparked by the murder of George Floyd and other recent racially-motivated events is a response to the bi-partisan failed state in which we live. It comes in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic and the largest economic collapse in the US in more than a century. These three crises have disproportionately impacted people of color and added to longterm racial inequality and injustice.
Mobs are unruly, headless things. The message is the action. The platform is often violence. But what is happening across the United States cannot simply be labelled as a looting-leads-to-shooting episode. It ranks as another chapter of enraged despair and untidy opportunism.
