Investigation Brews over Insecticide-Tainted Eggs Distributed Throughout U.K.

Eggs contaminated with a potentially harmful insecticide were imported from Europe and have been distributed throughout the United Kingdom and other countries, according to England’s Food Standards Agency (FSA). [1]
The number of eggs containing the insecticide fipronil, used in flea and tick products, is thought to be very small, thank goodness, but grocers in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, and Switzerland have had to pull millions of eggs from store shelves as a precaution.
It is believed that fipronil was used on chickens in Belgium.

Victory: KFC Pledges to Use Antibiotic-Free Chicken by 2018

In another victorious move for the public, KFC has announced that it will stop using chickens that were given antibiotics in the U.S. by the end of 2018. [1]
The fried chicken fast-food establishment, which boasts 4,200 restaurants across the country, says it will nix antibiotics from both its boneless and on-the-bone chicken. KFC joins a growing list of fast-food companies that have made food supply changes in response to consumer concerns about health.
KFC said in a statement:

Chickens and Bugs Replace Pesticides, Herbicides for Some Farmers

Rather than turning to toxic chemicals to rid farm fields of destructive insects and noxious weeds, some farmers in Missouri are recruiting chickens and bugs to do the job for them.
The 40 acres of land purchased by Gary Wenig and his wife to grow organic crops were initially overrun by weeds and insects. In order to grow truly organic plants, the couple had to eschew products like Roundup and atrazine. Synthetic pesticides are permitted for organic growing, but they’re expensive and can still be toxic.

Celebrities Promote Petition to Tell Tyson: Stop Ripping Heads Off Chickens!

Tyson foods supplies some of the biggest names with chicken – from McDonald’s to KFC, and more – but their industrial agricultural practices are menacing at best and cruelly disgusting at their worst. This is why countless individuals across the country, including celebrities such as Candice Bergen, are telling companies like Tyson to stop the animal cruelty.

Video: McDonald’s Chicken Supplier Caught “Stabbing Chickens With Spikes”

A major chicken supplier for both McDonald’s and Tyson Foods has been caught deeply abusing chickens in some of the most graphic and disturbing ways possible. As documented by an undercover video investigation (see below for the video), factory farm workers can allegedly be seen beating the chickens with spikes, breaking their necks by stomping on their heads, and much more.
It’s absolute detestable, and I’m most certainly not lovin’ it.
