Well... yes, at least compared to the country as a whole. Hillary won the state's 55 electoral votes 8,753,788 (61.73%) to 4,483,810 (31.62%). She won the dozen most populous counties in the state; the only population center Trump won was the Bakersfield area. But California's legislature...

Last November there were 5 congressional districts in Southern California with Republican Representatives that went for Hillary. In each one Trump did significantly worse than Romney had. In the district that straddles Orange and San Diego counties, CA-49, represented by Darrell Issa, Romney had won the district in 2012 with 52.4%. In November Trump got 43.2%, a 9 point drop-off. And Issa had the scare of his political life. His race was the last one decided in the whole country and in the end he edged out Doug Applegate 155,888 (50.3%) to 154,267 (49.7%).

The decay of an empire always begins with social decay.
America is undergoing a rapid social decay, devoid of the values and traditional conservatism that propelled the country to super power status.
The state that is leading the charge to turn America into a bastion of political identity hell, with feelings trumping biology, is California.
Next time you find yourself in the Golden State, and you fill out a form with the ever present “sex” category, “male” and “female” may not be your only choice.

Earlier in April of this year, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a non-profit group which emphasizes preventative medicine and vegan lobbyists, said in a lawsuit that the Los Angeles school district should not be allowed to serve hot dogs and other processed meats to students because the products increase the risk for cancer. One deduction that Trump's tax plan seeks to eviscerate just happens to focus primarily on blue states. If his plan passes, deductions of state and local taxes from federal income taxes will be eliminated. There are 7 states with no state income tax-- Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming-- and neither Tennessee nor New Hampshire taxes wages, so those 9 states won't be impacted at all.

You know who has a really big mailing list? AARP. For starters, they have over 37,000,0000 members. But they add people to their mailing list even before they become members. Yesterday I got a mailing from them. Inside the envelope were three petitions, one to each California senator and one to Adam Schiff, my congressman. Other than the names, they were identical:
