Transfer of Power by Nancy Ohanian Today McConnell adjourned the Senate until after the election-- so that there can be no debate and no vote on a compromise pandemic relief bill. Yesterday I went for my first "joy ride" since March. Not really a joy ride in the classic sense but my first trip outside my house that wasn't essential. Once every 10 days I go to the grocery story and once a month I go to the bank.
The scope of the disaster of the pandemic in the U.S. is the most blatant indictment of Trump's "leadership" so far. The kind of actions-- by government and populace-- needed to defeat the pandemic went quickly into effect in east Asian countries-- from China, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea to Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. And it worked.
"Please Stop And Let Me Finish, Sir" by Nancy Ohanian Republicans are desperate to make the election about something other than Trump. In a Trump referendum, they lose-- top to bottom. And now it looks like someone has finally persuaded Trump to do the unthinkable, help make the election not-about-him. Appealing to his innate racism and misogyny, Trump is preparing to try to make the election about Kamala Harris.
