Midnight Meme Of The Day!
by NoahAs we all know, just about anything can show up in your mail. The other day, I received this letter from Melania Trump. I don't think I have ever received mail from a Republican. Maybe I should just be like some political sleazebag and say "I don't recall."My first reaction to having such a thing in my mailbox was embarrassment. How do I explain this to my letter carrier? How many people at the Post Office saw this?

Orson Welles, Broadcasts and Fake News
Orson Welles’ spectral return to the screen, ingeniously in posthumous mode, should have come as a comfort to the magicians skilled in the arts of trickery. Beyond the grave, he seems to be exerting a continuing influence, with his film, The Other Side of the Wind making its debut after 48 torrid years at the Telluride Film Festival. His delight[Read More...]

There will be no future on a dead planet, socialist or otherwise. I was also the chairman of the Student Activities Board and put on all these great concerts by bands like the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, the Dead, the Airplane, the Byrds, Joni Mitchell, Otis Redding, The Four Tops, Ravi Shankar, Muddy Waters, Love...I got tapes in the mail... like everyday. In 1969 I was getting ready to cut out and go the Europe before officially graduating. I had heard this new group's first song, "Marrakech Express," and I remember it because I was planning to go there.

Texas' 13th congressional district, the panhandle, is the reddest in the country. The huge district, which stretches from the Oklahoma panhandle and the New Mexico border 450 miles east to the Dallas exurbs, includes Amarillo and Wichita Falls. The population has been declining or stagnant for 3 decades and the PVI is a horrifying R+33. Although Trump didn't do as well as Romney had (80.2%), it was close-- 79.9%.

America Has Become Even More Dangerous
The confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh by the US Senate may seem unremarkable to the three dozen or so nations now targeted by US sanctions and impending “color revolutions.” The list has expanded, India, China and Russia of course, but in truth, there is no end to the list. The issue is world conquest, and the unanswered questions are “by whom” and “for what purpose.” -

How Kavanaugh Could Change Everything by Following Jordan Peterson’s Advice
A majority of Americans are, I believe, tired of what our polity has become.
If we wish to see partisanship defeated and to change how we do politics and make judicial decisions, someone has to act first to make a politically difficult decision in favor of what matters more than politics.
Someone has to be the first to rise above. -

Why Conservatives Can't Understand Liberals (and Vice Versa)
What Haidt found is that both conservatives and liberals recognize the Harm/Care and Fairness/Reciprocity values. Liberal-minded people, however, tend to reject the three remaining foundational values—Loyalty/betrayal, Authority/subversion, and Sanctity/degradation—while conservatives accept them. It’s an extraordinary difference, and it helps explain why many liberals and conservatives in America think “the other side” is bonkers.

Paul Romer: Why He Won the Nobel Prize in Economics
Over time, increasing returns models are seen as less descriptive of growth than perhaps they were in the 1990s. The growth rates of many countries have been stagnant or even falling, rather than rising. Nonetheless, for understanding how ideas boost growth, and in cumulative fashion, Romer’s work is essential. If you are wondering “which economist has done the most to help us explain Silicon Valley,” you would turn first to Romer.

‘Operation Endless War’? 17 Years In Afghanistan
We have passed the 17 year mark on the Afghan war and the Taliban control more territory than they have at any time since the launch. So for trillions of dollars, thousands of deaths, and 17 years of US government effort, “victory” is no closer than at day one. Does President Trump want out? Perhaps. But his neocon advisors have other ideas. On today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:
