Day by day, UK shale industry and Tories are losing the battle to promote fracking
In their belligerent and blinkered attempt to replicate the US shale boom in the UK, the fracking industry and Conservative Government cannot bury three immovable and inconvenient truths that threaten to kill off the industry, even before it has been shown to be commercially viable.
Firstly, the simple one is scale: the UK is a small, densely-populated island and any fracking boom, with the number of wells it would require, was always going to pit community after community against the industry. -
Canada seems to prefer state of ‘war’ in Korea, not peace
By Yves Engler · October 28, 2018 Who prefers military might over peaceful discussion to settle a long festering international dispute? Canada, it seems. It may surprise some that a Canadian general is undercutting inter-Korean rapprochement while Global Affairs Canada seeks to maintain its 70-year old war footing, but that is what the Liberal government […]

Northerntruthseeker Rant For Sunday, October 28th, 2018
Well... It is indeed Sunday, and once again better late than never, here comes my weekend rant..I have been extremely busy and burned out this last while... Work alone has had major changes and a lot of pressure on myself... On top of that I have my mother that is once again in declining health on my mind as well as trying to take care of family needs... I have decided to delay any further renovations on my home for the time being to take some of the pressure off of myself, but I still need to unwind more and find more methods to relax.....

Bible Contradiction? Old Testament Vs New Testament? Marcionism? Jay Dyer – LIVE NOW
One of the creeping heresies of our day is the issue of Marcionism, which tends to be either overlooked or subtly promoted across theological lines, from Protestants to Catholics to so-called “Orthodox.” The heresiarch Marcion is the father of pitting Paul and his supposed gnostic writings against the “mean God” of the Law and Prophets. This talk will also be relevant to the countless gnostics and Neo-pagans who constantly challenge my work. I’ll also be taking superhchat Q n A about objections and apparent contradictions. -

Blue America Has GOTV Ads Up Now. Want To Help Us Put Up More?
Blue America members voted last week to send $5,000 checks to Kara Eastman (NE), James Thompson (KS) and Kendra Fershee (WV), none of whom are front-runners and each of whom is running a tough uphill battle. I love that kind of direction from our members. Thanks everyone who voted! That came out of the PAC itself. Then there's the Independent Expenditure Committee. We can't give that money away. We have to spend it. So we are.

The Cantillon Effect: Because of Inflation, We’re Financing the Financiers
In the modern financial system, the current realization of the Cantillon effect looks quite similar to a regressive tax. The first to benefit are often corporations with plenty of investors, whether publicly traded or financed through private equity. Next, raw goods benefit from increased prices, including already heavily subsidized industries such as steel and aluminum. Technology also benefits, for it is utilized as an intermediate good for many companies.

We Either Get Rid Of Iowa Fascist Steve King Now-- Or Acclimate Ourselves To Having Him Around Forever
Iowa is a swing state-- and it's about to swing way back in the other direction. Governor Kim Reynolds (R) has a one in six chance of being reelected. Right now, Iowa sends one Democrat and 3 Republicans to Congress. At worst, it appears that in 2019 Iowa will have 3 Democrats and one Republican in Congress. But at best... 4 Democrats and no Republicans. But that's going to take some work.

DiEM25 will contest the European Parliament elections in Italy – Press Conference announcement, Rome, 26th OCT 2018
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are here because Italy is being torn by two destructive forces: Brussels and Salvini. By the failed establishment of Renzi-Merkel-Juncker-Moscovici and by the reckless, racist anti-European Salvini project.
Tragically, Brussels and Salvini are working very well together against the interests of Italians in particular and of Europeans in general.

INF Treaty Withdrawal: Does Trump Believe The Reagan Mythology?
As Trump dramatically pulls out of the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, while sending John Bolton to Moscow to negotiate a new agreement regarding the production of nuclear weapons, it appears that false narratives about the Cold War’s conclusion could be influencing White House foreign policy.
