He further noted:
Moldovan President Igor Dodon has expressed his outrage against the authorities and police of the capital city of Chișinău, condemning them for preventing a protest against an LGBT march on Saturday, ensuring the pride procession was able to make its way along its entire 3 km course.
In his view, “the behavior of the police, who took measures against those who wanted to prevent the march, is unacceptable.”
Sputnik – May 22, 2018 Israeli MPs have reportedly discussed a bill that outlines the means by which Israel may help Kurds build their state in Syria, Iraq and Turkey, which would support Tel Aviv. According to one of Israel’s radio stations, the bill had been submitted to the Knesset by two Israeli right-wing parties, namely Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu. The […]
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered a speech to the neoconservative Heritage Foundation in which he made 12 US demands of the Iranian government. The demands were in places laughably inaccurate – demanding Iran close a heavy water reactor that has been dismantled for years – that one wonders whether it was just incompetence or whether they simply don’t care. The US is backing itself into a corner over Iran, risking losing its European allies and further emboldening Russia and China. What’s next? Tune in to today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

Is Kim Jong Un smarter that Señor Trumpanzee? Probably. Or at least he knows that Trump is a habitual liar and that nothing he says or agrees to is worth anything at all. Trump very publicly spent his entire life lying to and cheating everything he's negotiated with. Why would this meeting with Kim be any different?

Richard Pipes, the great Harvard historian, has died at 94. Best known for his clear-eyed work on Russia and its Bolshevik Revolution, a topic on which so many thinkers over the past century have fallen short, Pipes also wrote a terrific 1999 book on private property as a cornerstone of civilization, Property and Freedom: The Story of How through the Centuries Private Ownership Has Promoted Liberty and the Rule of Law.
I have long come under fire from many naysayers that claim that I am way too hard on the Jews and that I should not disrespect them and instead concentrate on only one facet of their "tribe", which of course is "Zionism".... I have said to these naysayers for years now that I first started out trying to associate their evil ways with only "Zionism", but after years of research I have long come to the conclusion that the problem is NOT "Zionism" but the entire sickness of their so called "religion" overall....
Stefan Halper, the alleged informant or "mole" in Trump's campaign, received more that a million dollars from 2012 through 2016 from the Department of Defense. Instead of appointing a second Special Counsel to investigate the spy case against Trump, Rod Rosenstein referred the case to Inspector General Michael Horowitz who lacks the power to subpoena. Additionally, IG Horowitz is not authorized to press criminal charges, but may only turn the case back over to the Department of Justice if he finds wrongdoing.
(TIM) — An anarchist group in Hamilton, a city in the Canadian province of Ontario, has been ordered by officials to remove an anarchy symbol from its headquarters. The officials have declared that the symbol is “hate material similar to the swastika” despite police distancing themselves from the city’s position. “The anarchist symbol is considered hate material […]
Simply stated, Italy elected free-lunch politicians who promised big tax cuts and big spending increases. I like the first part of that lunch, but the overall meal doesn’t add up in a nation that has a very high debt level.
And I don’t think the government has a very sensible plan to make the numbers work.
By throwing Livingstone overboard, Corbyn and McDonnell have not made it easier for themselves. Livingstone was one of the few heavyweights of the Left on the National Executive Committee until his suspension. With the departure of Christine Shawcroft, who was personally told by Corbyn to resign, there is no serious socialist left on the NEC.
(RPI Op-ed) — As a general rule, when Dick Cheney favors a foreign policy position it’s best to be on the opposite side if you value liberty over war and authoritarianism. When I taught a cost/benefit analysis course, one of the topics I covered was worker safety. Using W. Kip Viscusi's excellent entry "Job Safety" in The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics, I showed that there is an implicit market for safety in the workplace and that workers do a pretty good job of judging relative risks.

“But there are certain topics children should know about,” one might say. “American history, for example.” I agree that it is desirable for educated citizens living in a free and democratic society to have a certain collective knowledge about important topics. But I disagree that the best way to impart this knowledge in a free and democratic society is through force.

Much has been said about US President Donald Trump leaving the Iran deal: that this is in blatant disregard of basic rules of the international law on treaties and that this is the behavior of the bully, profoundly disrespectful towards the other partners in the treaty – France, Great-Britain, Russia, China and Germany.
And last, but not least, that this comes down to a declaration of war against Iran.
In many ways this is indeed a historical setback.
The consequences of Trump’s decision will be felt for decades to come.
Shouldn’t we try to compare women and men who studied the same things in college and selected careers in the same fields? Seems relatively important–and when we do that, the American Association of University Women finds that women actually make 93 percent of their male coworkers.
What about comparing work experience? Lengthy career interruptions? And, heck, what about overtime?
Which may be why some of us were infuriated watching a show hosted by you – probably the only true dissident currently given a show on mainstream TV – trash Corbyn in exactly the same terms used over the past two years by every section of the corporate media, from the Daily Mail and the Times to the Guardian and the BBC. Even were these anti-semitism allegations grounded in a verifiable reality, we really don’t need Frankie Boyle indulging prejudices we’ve heard almost every day since Corbyn was elected Labour leader.

At the end of the day, Putin’s interests are essentially Russian interests. Putin wants to see an end to the encircling of Russia and the economic isolation foisted onto it by the West. Putin does not want to see Russia’s strategic ally destroyed but Putin has also negotiated his own deals with the Syrian government that not only see Russian bases and ports established in the country but mining rights for Russian companies.

Donald Trump likes to make “deals.” Perhaps he views the Palestinian problem as essentially an economic issue, not a political one.
Do we have actual elections in the US, or does the CIA and deep state do the deciding? The news that longtime CIA operative Stefan Halper infiltrated the Trump campaign at the behest of the FBI should be the biggest news in the country. To the extent that the media is covering it, they are furious that the CIA infiltrator was exposed in the media. Do we even care anymore that we are manipulated by the secret government?
The Palestinian issue is back on the international agenda more than at any time over the last 15 years. If the move of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was intended to demonstrate that the Palestinians were powerless and there was nothing they could do about it, then it has failed.
