Poroshenko: strategic partnership between Ukraine and USA tested now
KYIV: Current times when Ukraine fights off an aggression by Russia is a test of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko made the statement after the meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Kyiv, Ukrinform reported.
“Current times are a testing time for the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States,” Poroshenko said .
The Head of State said that Ukraine appreciates US support for the Ukrainian people during all time of its independence. “This support has become the most important event since the beginning of Russian aggression in Crimea and Donbass,” he said.
Poroshenko also highlighted that the United States is now “leading the consolidated efforts of the transatlantic community to support Ukraine in achieving a peaceful resolution of the conflict.”
The Donbas conflict has only peaceful solutions, he said.
“We are working to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict and stop the aggression. This is a priority for the entire civilized world,” Poroshenko said.
