Special Mountain Battalion Returned to Homeland
Military servicemen of the Special Mountain Battalion returned home from Afghanistan today. Georgian battalion was carrying out ISAF mission in Kandahar province during 7 months.
Commander of Special Operation Forces welcomed 146 military servicemen home on Alekseevka Airfield. LTC DImitri Kiknadze congratulated them on peaceful completion of their service and thanked them for successful mission.
Military servicemen were performing full spectrum of operations along with the coalition forces in Afghanistan. The battalion did not suffer any casualties. Special Mountain battalion is the last Georgian unit that carried out ISAF mission under the Georgian flag on the Kandahar Base.
