Ukrainian Interior Ministry, National Guard lose 16 servicemen in Ilovaisk battle
Anton Heraschenko, an advisor of the Ukrainian interior minister, has reported the death of 16 servicemen of the Interior Ministry and the National Guard in the battle of Ilovaisk in Donetsk region.
“So, 16 out of 64 soldiers or 25% of all soldiers of special battalions of the Interior Ministry and the National Guard who had died in the entire ATO period were killed near Ilovaisk. This is a proof of how fierce that fighting is,” Heraschenko wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
He said the Ukrainian battalions had had big losses: Donbas had lost eight men killed and twelve wounded, Azov had two killed and seven wounded or five dead and eleven wounded since the beginning of the fight for Ilovaisk, Shakhtarsk had four killed and 16 wounded, including two severely, and Dnipro had two killed and seven wounded.

Five Ukrainian servicemen killed, 21 wounded in east Ukraine fighting over past 24 hours
KYIV: Five Ukrainian servicemen have been killed and 21 injured in the Donbas in the past 24 hours.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing on Thursday.
“Five Ukrainian military have been killed and 21 have been wounded over the past 24 hours,” he said.

Militants shot down Ukrainian Su-24M aircraft, pilots eject
KYIV: Terrorists shot down a Ukrainian Su-24M military aircraft in Luhansk region on Wednesday.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing on Thursday.
“Near the village of Novosvitlivka in Luhansk region terrorists shot down a Su-24M plane of the Ukrainian Air Force that was returning after the fulfillment of a task. Both pilots ejected,” Lysenko said.
Lysenko said earlier that militants shot down a Su-25 fighter aircraft in Luhansk region on August 20 and that the fate of the pilots was unknown.

Terrorists shot down Ukrainian Su-25 fighter in Luhansk region – Lysenko
KYIV: A Su-25 fighter aircraft involved in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) was shot down in Luhansk region on Wednesday, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said, according to ZN.ua.
“A Su-25 aircraft was really hit today during a combat mission. It crashed. The fate of the pilot is still unknown, but there is hope that everything will be fine with him,” he told the 112 Ukraina television channel on Wednesday.
Earlier media reports said that militants from the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic terrorist group had supposedly shot down an aircraft and two helicopters of the ATO forces near Luhansk.
