The master plot went something like this: the Russian government interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election with the goal of getting Donald Trump elected. After tens of millions spent, hundreds of interviews, and hundreds of thousands of documents produced – the disgraced former FBI director Robert Mueller could not manage to produce any evidence of ‘Trump-Russia Collusion’ – which was the original remit of his epic witch hunt. As failures go, this one is hard to top.
