Boiling Frogs Show Presents Cindy Cohn
On this episode of Boiling Frogs Show we are joined by Cindy Cohn, Legal Director for the Electronic Frontier Foundation as well as its General Counsel. We discuss the latest developments on NSA, including the recent court ruling by Judge Richard Leon and the usual wishy-washy posturing by the U.S. Congress. We have a heated debate on the issue of meaningful versus meaningless reforms when it comes to the government, its strategically appointed so-called panels and its history of meaningless theoretical changes and reforms.
Washington’s Arrogance has Brought America Disrepute
Years ago when I described the George W. Bush regime as a police state, right-wing eyebrows were raised. When I described the Obama regime as an even worse police state, liberals rolled their eyes. Alas! Now I am no longer controversial. Everybody says it.
On Wednesday, Obama addressed income inequality. He called it “the defining challenge of our time.” He did so disingenuously.
Throughout his tenure, he’s transferred America’s wealth to corporate interests and super-rich elites. He stole it from ordinary people doing so.
Even Wall Street Journal editors said “few presidents have done more to increase inequality than he has.”

“Moral cowardice, euphemistically called political expediency, leads to injustice, denial & corruption.”
By Robert Shetterly
“Senator Humphrey, I been praying about you, and I been thinking about you, and you’re a good man. The only trouble is, you’re afraid to do what you know is right.”
This week Boiling Frogs Show brings to you an unusual segment. Peter B. and I decided to have a show where we just talk-talking the talk. The day we recorded this show my mood was totally affected by Jeremy Hammond’s speech during his sentencing session. We talked about that.
“An Essential component of a police state: An all-pervasive spy apparatus operating independently of any legal or constitutional constraints.”
Introduction: Revelations about the long-term global, intrusive spying by the US National Security Agency (NSA) and other allied intelligence apparatuses have provoked widespread protests and indignation and threatened ties between erstwhile imperial allies.
Allied regimes have uniformly condemned NSA espionage as a violation of trust and sovereignty, a threat to their national and economic security and to their citizens’ privacy.
“The police operate according to Obama’s presidential kill power: murder first then create a case against the victim.”
In my last column I emphasized that it was important for American citizens to demand to know what the real agendas are behind the wars of choice by the Bush and Obama regimes. These are major long term wars each lasting two to three times as long as World War II.
