Carl Bernstein published an article in the Rolling Stone magazine exposing that more than 400 American journalists in the previous 25 years had “secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency.

Publishers claim that they deserve a cut of the $4.7 billion in profits that Google makes from news content that generates revenue for the tech giant for free while publishers receive little in return.

This week friend of the show Kevin Gosztola of Shadowproof.com joined me to discuss the latest developments with Julian Assange. Kevin explained the charges that have been brought against Assange and the spin they have received in the media. He talked about the use of term “hacking” and why that is, in fact, an incorrect definition of what Assange has actually been charged with. Kevin also talked about Chelsea Manning who is still in jail after losing a recent appeal.

Russiagate is dead. Long live Russiagate. 
We have no doubt seen this statement broadcast; there is even a news / opinion piece in existence with a very similar title. The Narrative is dead! Long Live the Narrative! Its writer, James Howard Kunstler made an astute set of statements:

“Fake news” is a rather ubiquitous term that has come to be used in US and international media. This term is mainly attributed to President Donald Trump, in reaction to false media narratives about him and his campaign, and after his election to the Presidency, fake news became the modus operandi by which the media establishments sought to destroy the Trump Presidency by inundating the American populace with information that would serve to discourage them from supporting him.

Former CBS chief foreign news correspondent, Laura Logan, called out the liberal bias and arrogance in mainstream media. She blamed the media for not pursuing objectivity anymore, arguing journalists have evolved into “political activists.” She said that 85% of journalists are registered Democrats.

A CNN “exclusive” report from inside Venezuela aired multiple times on the network on January 28. It is a prime example of how influential media outlets in the U.S. effectively create propaganda for the opposition, which now is receiving funds from President Donald Trump’s administration.
