Imagine spending two months in jail for a robbery that you didn’t commit. Well, that is exactly what happened to an Iowa man after he was falsely charged with first-degree robbery.
Now he is suing the prosecutor that threw him in jail.
Joseph McBride, 23, was arrested for his assumed role in a January 2017 home invasion robbery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
McBride was in Phoenix at the time of his August 2017 arrest, several months after the original crime was committed.

The Des Moines Register released a new Iowa Poll that bears out what many are taking away from the incredible surge in support for Democrats in beet red Alabama this week. Iowa is a purple swing state that had swung very blue in recent years-- and then swung back. Obama beat McCain in 2008, 828,940 (54%) to 682,379 (44%) and beat Romney in 2012, 822,544 (525) to 730,617 (46%).

The earliest inheritance tax I could find was a 5% levy on inheritances of estates that went to people other than the deceased's grandparents, parents, children, grandchildren, and siblings towards the end of Augustus' reign. Receipts went to a fund to pay military retirement benefits. In the U.S. the first inheritance tax was passed in 1898-- but only 75 cents on each hundred dollars of an estate worth over $10,000.

You probably never heard of Brook Park, Ohio unless you live in the Cleveland area. It's a Cleveland suburb with less than 20,000 people. Or maybe you remember it from last year because the mayor, Tom Coyne-- who was in office from 1982 through 2001 and again from 2013 'til... well Tuesday-- left the Democratic Party to pledge his allegiance to Señor Trumpanzee during the election campaign.

Austin Frerick is a 27 year old candidate for Congress, running for the Iowa congressional seat held by Paul Ryan rubber stamp David Young. The district, stretches from Des Moines across southwestern Iowa to Council Bluffs and the Omaha suburbs. It includes 16 counties though most of the votes come out of Polk (Des Moines), Pottawattamie (Council Bluffs), Dallas (Adel) and Warren (indianola) counties.

In 2008 Obama had a hefty win in Iowa-- 54-44% against McCain. 4 years later Obama beat Romney 52-46%. Then 2016 was a catastrophe in this once-blue-trending purple state. The Republicans started winning everywhere. The DCCC, tone def as always backed a wealthy "ex"-Republican pile of EMILY's List dung as the congressional candidate in the bluest district. The whole party fell apart. There couldn't have been a worse candidate than Monica Vernon. Except for the one the Democrats ran for president-- the polar opposite of what Iowans wanted as President.

Yep, in Iowa tooThe good news Tuesday night was that Democrat Phil Miller beat Republican Travis Harris for a state House seat that includes Van Buren County, most of Jefferson County and a bit of Davis County (House District 82). The special election was called after Democrat Curt Hanson died in June. It's considered a swing district with 6,611 registered Republicans, 6,257 registered Democrats and 5,738 voters without partisan affiliation.
