BREAKING: FBI Releases Video of LaVoy Finicum Shooting

UPDATE II: 10:33 p.m. January 28, 2016.
The video was recorded from a fixed-wing FBI aircraft and shows the white truck that Finicum was driving had been pulled over by an unmarked law enforcement vehicle with emergency lights in its front grill.
He remains stationary for several minutes in the middle of the road, almost for four minutes, which were cut out in this edited version by the feds, before he began driving away (unedited version at bottom of article).
4:50 – He begins to drive away as the aircraft follows.

VIDEO: Oregon Standoff Ends With FBI Arrest of Bundy & Six Others, One Dead (UPDATED II)

Oregon protesters occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge have been arrested after a firefight which left Oregon militiaman Lavoy Finicum dead.
Sources within the Oath Keepers organization claim that Finicum was surrendering peaceably to law enforcement when he was shot and killed, but there is no independent confirmation or video evidence of the ultimate showdown at this time.

Florida Legislature Votes to Gut Sunshine Law; Bill Would End Open Records Access Advocacy

Florida’s famous Sunshine Law is under attack in the state legislature today as a state House Committee has already voted to eliminate the provision that guarantees government agencies must pay citizens’  attorney fees when public records are illegally withheld.
Its companion measure, Florida State Senate Bill 1220, passed in committee today with a 3-0 vote and two abstentions.

Massachusetts Man Awarded $72,500 Settlement After he was Arrested Video Recording Cop Spewing Profanity

A Massachusetts man who was arrested on wiretapping charges for video recording a cop in front of his home yelling profanities into a phone was awarded a $72,500 settlement Monday.
George Thompson, a lifelong cook, said he is investing the money into a food truck named Bozo’s – in honor of the cop who arrested him – Fall River police officer Thomas Barboza.
Barboza, who received a one-day suspension for the profanities, is more than welcome to dine at Bozo’s after it opens this summer, Thompson said in an interview with Photography is Not a Crime Monday evening.

Palm Beach Sheriff Settles for $500,000 for Down Syndrome Teen They Shot down

The way Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy Jason Franqui described it, he was about to be run over by a madman in a minivan.
He even made eye contact with him as the driver, who turned the steering wheel directly into his path in a final stare-d0wn before attempting to kill him.
Naturally, Franqui feared for his life and pulled out his gun, firing six shots, striking the 17-year-old Down syndrome boy who had taken his family’s minivan without permission for a low-speed joyride through the western suburbs of the county on a single flat-tire.

How a Minnesota Activist Exposed a Cop Troll Encouraging Murder, Leading to the Cop’s Suspension

Minnesota activist Andrew Henderson recently shined a light on a cop who was urging readers of a local newspaper to run over protesters in the comments section of an article about an upcoming Black Lives Matter rally that took place on Martin Luther King Day.
Using the moniker JM Roth, the cop explained to readers that all they had to do was say they were in fear for their lives and the courts would rule in their favor.

Rookie Delaware Police Officer Fired for Threatening to Kill Victim for Helping Citizen File Complaint Against Police

Less than a year into the job, a Delaware cop was arrested for making terrorist threats against a citizen, who was only trying to help another citizen file a complaint against police.
“I’m going to call my boys and have them come and lock you up,” Wilmington police officer Julian Michel told the victim, threatening to arrest him for disorderly conduct.
“I’m going to kill that motherfucker,” Michel threatened, pointing at the victim. “I’m going to shoot you.”

New Mexico state police chased a 74-year-old man driving on the wrong side of the interstate earlier this month, forcing him out his van at gunpoint and tasering him, causing him to fall to the ground clutching his chest.
Roger Chalet died a week later.
Luna County sheriff’s deputies say he died of natural causes.
