US/Syria "not on same page" fighting ISIS- FAA issues no fly warning over Syria

Gee, how come the US & Syria are not on the same page in fighting ISIS?Isn't the US striking at ISIS in Iraq? Because they are terrorists? The very same terrorists who have laid seige to many towns, brutalized civilians and taken over oilfields in Syria? How could they not be "on the same page"?Of course, I am being rhetorical!-  US, Syria ‘not on the same page’ in fighting ISState Department official says Washington, Damascus have yet to share common ground in fight against IS.

Washington and Damascus are "not on the same page" in the fight against their common enemy the Islamic State, whose militants have declared a "caliphate" straddling swathes of Iraq and Syria, US officials said Monday. The United States has been battling IS insurgents just over the Syrian border in Iraq with a series of air strikes that began on August 8.Over the past three days, US military aircraft carried out 35 strikes, destroying more than 90 IS targets in the most intensive bombardments since the start of the campaign. While acknowledging that Syria and the United States shared a common enemy, State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said the two have yet to share common ground."I would strongly disagree with the notion that we are on the same page here in terms of what we're doing," Harf said. She also stressed that "in Iraq, we have a government that has asked for our help and asked for our support and welcomed us in. That obviously is not the case in Syria."On Monday, Syrian warplanes bombed IS positions in the northern province of Raqa for a second day and warplanes targeted several IS-held positions in Aleppo province."It's a good thing when ISIS fighters are taken off the battlefield, period," Harf said, using another acronym by which the group is known. But "I'm not going to say that we share anything in common with the Syrian regime," she added.Harf also pegged blame for the militants' growing presence on "the Assad regime's own actions that helped lead to the rise of ISIS," which joined in with some opposition fighters battling the government there. In the long-term, Harf said, the US aims "to take out ISIS's leadership, to degrade their operational abilities, to cut off their financing sources, to go after them in a comprehensive way, to cut off their ability to do the things we've seen them do."

The US aims to take out the ISIS leadership? Hmmmmm......Convenient?Flashback!-

Where in the world is al Baghdadi? Kurdish media official says he fled to Syria!

-Armed groups in Syria have an estimated several hundred portable anti-aircraft missiles that could easily be diverted to extremists and used to destroy low-flying commercial planes.

-The report was released just hours after the US Federal Aviation Administration issued a notice to US airlines banning all flights in Syrian airspace.

Porous borders and the presence in Iraq and other neighbouring countries of groups affiliated with al-Qaeda and other extremists heighten the danger that anti-aircraft weapons could spread to other trouble spots.

The report names Sudan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia as likely sources for MANPADS systems smuggled to insurgents inside Syria but cautions that there still is no certainty about their origins. Rebel groups have also boasted of seizing anti-aircraft launchers and missiles from Syrian forces.

Obama administration has revealed that Washington has started arming Kurds.

Arming the Kurds is arming ISIS- there is a definite connection between those two groups

This comes after the France foreign minister Laurent Fabius stated that soon France and other European countries would discuss the possibility of giving heavy weapons to Iraq, especially Kurdish Peshmerga Forces. In an interview with French media, Fabius pointed out that it is important for European countries to give heavy and modern weapons to Iraq, particularly Peshmerga forces in order that they are be able to defend and protect their homeland as well as other ethnic groups against the (IS) militants.
