More Holes in Trump’s Claims About Alleged Killing of ISIS Leader Al-Baghdadi

By Stephen Lendman
Trump calling Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi “the world’s number one terrorist leader” ignored reality. No individual, group, or other nation matches US state-terrorism, ongoing at home and abroad worldwide.
As US president and commander-in-chief, the buck stops with him, bearing executive authority for what’s happening on his watch.
It’s unclear if Baghdadi is dead or alive. Earlier reports of his death were greatly exaggerated.
Russia’s Defense Ministry believes its aerial operation killed him in May 2017, very possibly the case.
Trump is a notorious liar. Most of what he says lacks credibility. Time and again his remarks proved false. Was this time different? Was his Sunday announcement true or more disinformation? It’s wise to accept nothing he says at face value. The “most ruthless and violent terror organization in the world” (ISIS) and likeminded ones Trump ignored in his remarks were made in the USA — supported and controlled by the Pentagon and CIA, their fighters operating as imperial foot soldiers wherever they’re deployed.
Trump provided no evidence proving whether and how “US special forces” killed Baghdadi.
Obama did NOT kill Osama. The body of whoever was killed was disposed of, never presented for proof. The same goes for Baghdadi, — no body with DNA confirmation, no death of the individual claimed.
Throughout US wars on Iraq, Syria and elsewhere, US ruling authorities supported the scourge of ISIS and other terrorist groups they pretend to be combatting.
No evidence suggests Baghdadi “died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering and crying and screaming.”
Claiming no children were harmed during the overnight raid is highly unlikely. When Pentagon warplanes terror-bomb cities, towns, villages and other targets, countless numbers of civilians are massacred — tens of thousands in Mosul, Iraq and Raqqa, Syria alone.
Trump: Baghdadi “ignited his vest, killing himself…(h)is body…mutilated by the blast, but test results gave certain and positive identification.”
Where’s the proof? Where are his remains for independent testing to determine the identity of the individual Trump claimed was killed? No remains, no independent testing, no DNA confirmation, no proof US special forces killed Baghdadi.
“The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others” was appointed ISIS head by his US handlers.
Trump: “Baghdadi’s demise demonstrates America’s relentless pursuit of terrorist leaders, and our commitment to the enduring and total defeat of ISIS!”
Trump’s claims are polar opposite reality. US support for ISIS and likeminded terrorist groups is indisputable. Claims by DJT and other US officials about combatting terrorism are refuted by cold hard truths.
Trump’s Sunday announcement was a political stunt, a diversionary tactic to shift attention from Dems’ efforts to impeach him, along with aiming to boost his reelection chances.
Russia’s Defense Ministry refuted Trump’s claim about help from Moscow to eliminate Baghdadi, a statement saying:
The ministry “has no reliable information about (involvement of) US servicemen (in) an operation to ‘yet another’ elimination of the former Daesh leader Abu Bark al-Baghdadi in the Turkish-controlled part of the Idlib deescalation zone,” adding:
“No airstrikes performed by US aircraft or aircraft belonging to the so called ‘international coalition’ were detected on Saturday or during the following days.”
Trump’s claim about the “world…now a much safer place” without Baghdadi is refuted by endless US wars of aggression in multiple theaters, along with support for ISIS and other jihadist groups.
As commander-in-chief, Trump is the latest in a long line of US warrior presidents, waging perpetual wars, pretending to support peace he and majority bipartisan hardliners in Washington abhor.
Their actions define where they stand, their rhetoric exercises in deception. Ignore it.
A Final Comment
The remains of an individual the US claimed to be Baghdadi were buried at sea so no independent DNA testing or other identity checks could be conducted.
According to forensic pathologists, positive ID’ing of human remains can take days or weeks to complete. Trump claimed Baghdadi was killed overnight Saturday — in a remote Syrian location nowhere near a forensic lab.
Yet on Monday, US war secretary Mark Esper claimed DNA testing showed remains tested were Baghdadi’s.
His deceptive claim strongly suggests that whoever was killed most likely was NOT Baghdadi!
