21st Century Wire says…
Western foreign policy has got to change.
After the consecutive terror attacks in both London and Manchester, foreign policy blowback is finally coming onto the agenda for the British public.
After the attack on the Manchester Arena after an Ariana Grande concert, it was revealed that the attacker, Salman Abedi, was linked to British backed terrorist group the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group.
Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the Labour Party currently challenging Theresa May’s Conservatives in the 2017 General Election, recently made the connection between foreign policy decisions the UK has made possibly leading to blowback in the form of these attacks.
In the following video, Stuart J. Hooper speaks with Head of the Department of International Politics at City University London, Dr. Inderjeet Parmar, about the extent to which this idea is making headway in the public consciousness, and what these events have meant for the general election process in the UK.
