US Senate offers to provide Ukraine with intelligence, weapons
KYIV: On June 4, US Republican Senator from the state of Ohio Rob Portman submitted an amendment to the military budget of the United States for 2016, which implies providing Ukraine with arms and intelligence in the amount of 60 million dollars.
This has been reported by RIA Novosti.
“The amendment provides for important and necessary for self-defense means that Ukraine requested, including intelligence, defensive lethal weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles, secure communications and training, aimed at developing key capabilities in military operations, planning and support [of troops],” the press service of the senator informed.
In addition, Portman made another amendment to the US military budget, requiring the Pentagon and NATO to understand the tactics of “Russian troops and militants” and how the military conflict in Ukraine could affect the production of Abrams American tanks.
