U.S. To Lead 15-Nation NATO Interoperability Exercise In Ukraine

Stuttgart, Germany: Exercise Rapid Trident 2014 is set to be held Sept. 15-26 in Yavoriv, Ukraine.
Rapid Trident, an annual (pre-planned) exercise that is part of the U.S. European Command’s joint exercise program, is designed to help boost interoperability between Ukrainian, US and other allied forces. This year’s exercise will involve command post exercises, patrolling, counter-IED training and a field training exercise. Approximately 1,300 military personnel from 15 nations including Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the U.S., as well as representatives from NATO, will participate in the exercise.
