Would the US supply PKK/YPG with ManPads also? Let's entertain that as a possibility?ISIS does not fly planes! So we KNOW the supply of ManPads has nothing to do with the fight against ISIS! And is intended purely to escalate the war making, against numerous participants, in the region. A declaration of war on the part of the US!
*Ansar Al Islam (Syrian "rebels") have US Approved Anti-Aircraft Missiles or Manpads
"A Syrian rebel group has paraded a cache of shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles, the first evidence of the weapons being supplied to opposition forces after an expected relaxing of US restrictions.
Despite the claims of US/Turkish alliance- The reality is quite the opposite and has been for some time. Sure Turkey has it’s turn coats who will happily cooperate with the continued US destabilization of Turkey. - An example of that would be the persons who participated in the US fomented coup attempt.- And the PKK/YPG allies already destabilizing Turkey, as Turkey continues to confiscate US supplied arms from PKK in Turkey.
*The Impact of the Kurdish/US Campaign to Take Raqqa: Syria/Turkey's Betrayal/Russia
“The U.S. says they don’t give arms to the YPG. But we know that they have done since the Kobane [battle between the YPG and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant]. We captured those arms from [outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party] PKK militants in Turkey. So we know that the U.S. gives weapons to the YPG. And we told [U.S. Chief of General Staff Joseph] Dunford not give weapons to them,” Çavusoglu
Turkey and the US are not allied in Operation Euphrates as it advances to Al Bab
*US Led Coalition NOT backing Turkish Move on Al-Bab: ISIS leaves 8 Villages for Kurds
“Their offensive on the city of Al-Bab is not being supported by coalition air strikes because it was “independently” launched by Turkey, said US Colonel John Dorrian, a spokesman for the coalition fighting the jihadist group in Syria and Iraq”
*US/Turkey Confrontation- Turkish backed rebels fighting US backed KurdsReuters- ignoring the spin of course!Example of Reuters spin? - Every time Turkish backed rebels says YPG- Reuters says SDFIt’s YPG. It’s PKK. The biggest faction of Arabs left SDF
“Syrian rebels backed by Turkey who are trying to drive Islamic State from the city of al Bab said on Monday they clashed with U.S.-backed Kurdish forces” (Kurdish forces who have annexed Syrian territory and are holding elections, taking census etc)
Fighting erupted in the village of Sheikh Nasser.
"We clashed with the Kurdish YPG and we took over the village," said Abu Assad Dabeq, a commander in the Turkish-backed Operation Euphrates Shield"The YPG are trying to advance to the areas we are advancing to," said Abu Assad Dabeq, adding his troops were already only a few kilometres away from al Bab
I found the tidbit below interesting:
"They (YPG) are competing with us to reach al Bab. They are working on cutting all roads either from Aleppo or in the direction of al Bab," he added. The YPG( SDF )had effectively created a belt that separated the mainly Arab Sunni rebels from where the Syrian army was positioned further south, he added”
So the Turkish backed rebel reports the Kurdish fighters created a belt between SAA and the Turkish rebels- As if to keep them apart? Why would they do that?
"The Turkish air force is helping to push back the YPG militias who have been exploiting our gains from Islamic State to step into villages vacated by the militants," Abu Anas said referring to four villages west of Manbij
Yes, the Turkish military is flying over Syria*Turkish air force hits Daesh, PKK/PYD targets in Syria
Turkey’s military released details of overnight airstrikes on terrorist positions in northern Syria on Monday.A statement from the military said Turkey’s air force hit six headquarters and 11 defensive positions belonging to the Daesh terror group.Turkish forces also hit four defensive positions belonging to the PKK/PYD, killing 11 terrorists. In separate strikes, targets hit included 64 Daesh and 11 PKK/PYD objectives, including shelters, command-and-control centers and vehicles.Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) special task force soldiers continued land-based attacks to control areas to the east and west of Al-Bab.FSA troops gained control of Sheikh Nasir village near Al-Bab after Daesh withdrew. (Under fire, not via agreement with Kurdish militias)
As I mentioned earlier today and at the opening of this post, the US has just okayed the supply of Manpads to it’s special rebel friends in Syria– This will enable these rebels to shoot down Syrian planes. Russian planes. Turkish planes.Hence confrontation between Turkey and the US has already occurred (coup- aligning with PKK/YPG) , is occuring (fighting between proxies) and could get escalate. Turkish plane shoot downs by US backed rebels, Kurd or otherwise, giving the US that good ol' plausible deniability they are so fond of .... Don't Miss:
