Georgia: NATO Officiates Over Cyber Warfare Seminar

Seminar on Cyber Security Issues

Seminar on “Cyber Security as Shared Responsibility and First Steps for Cooperation between Civic and Private Sectors” was held at professional Development Center of Defence Ministry of Georgia today.
The training aims to deepen cooperation between governmental and non-governmental sectors working on cyber security issues. First Deputy Defence Minister Gocha Ratiani opened the event. Director of Cyber Security Bureau of the MoD, Andria Gotsiridze and Representative of NATO Liaison Office Svein Amundsen delivered speeches to the participants of the seminar – the high-level officials of the governmental and non-governmental sectors. They talked about the development of cyber security capabilities in Georgia and shared cooperation between state and private organizations in this direction.
The participants of the seminar were also delivered the presentations on the functions and priorities of the Cyber Security Bureau. Later on, the participants discussed existing challenges in cyber security field with the speakers and referred to the importance of close cooperation with state structures.
The seminar was held under the aegis of LEPL Cyber Security Bureau and Professional Development Center of Defence Ministry of Georgia and under the support of NATO-Georgia Professional Development Program.
