Minister of Defence met with French Diplomats

Minister of Defence of Georgia held the meeting with Ambassador of France to Georgia Renaud Salins and French Defence Attaché LTC Andree Evrard. First Deputy Minister Gocha Ratiani attended the meeting.
In the frames of the ongoing cooperation the sides discussed the current and planned issues and defined the future plans of action. Minister underscored significance of intensifying the cooperation with the Republic of France within the format of bilateral and multilateral formats.
One of the key topics of discussion were the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package implementation and Georgia`s Euro-Atlantic integration.
Following the meeting, Mr. Reno Salens made comment: “Some discussions started last year between the Government of Georgia and some French industrialists in the normal framework of our defence cooperation. I insist on the term discussions because nothing committing was signed by the Georgian side – no agreement, no treaty, no commitment what so ever. The only thing I can say now is that those discussions which started last year are continuing. Thank you very much“.
