To isolate a virus, lung fluid is collected and the virus is separated from everything else. To do that, it must be filtered and examined under a microscope to confirm it's unique characteristics. Dr. Wu Zunyou, the Chief Epidemiologist of China's CDC, admits the Wuhan virus has never been isolated.
