Yulia Samoilova

Russia’s Channel 1 to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest over politicisation

Russia’s main broadcaster Channel 1, has decided not to show this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The decision has been made after Ukraine, who hosts this year’s contest, has decided to ban Russia’s entrant Yulia Samoilova, a wheel-chair bound singer, from entering Ukraine.
The decision was a low-political move by the fascist regime in Kiev who have defied protests from the European Broadcasting Union (no relationship with the European Union). The EBU which organises the song contest insisted that the event remain apolitical.

Ukraine now bans Russia’s Samoilova from participating in Eurovision Song Contest by satellite

That Ukrainian authorities’ reason for banning Yulia Samoilova, Russia’s entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest due to be held shortly in Kiev, from entering Ukraine is to prevent any Russian participation in the Contest at all, became clearer today when the Ukrainian authorities rejected a proposal from the Contest organisers that Samoilova be allowed to participate in the Contest via satellite.

Russian Foreign Ministry comments on Kiev’s fascist Eurovision ban of singer Yulia Samoilova

Only in neo-nazi infested Ukraine can a wheelchair bound singer be banned from appearing in a non-political song contest.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) banned entry to the country for three years for Russia’s Eurovision singer Yulia Samoilova, citing the alleged “violation by her of the Ukrainian legislation.”
The Russian singer visited Crimea in 2015 with a concert without obtaining a permit from the Ukrainian authorities. Ukraine law allows restricting entry for foreigners who had visited post-referendum Crimea without a permit from Kiev.

Ukraine bans Russian singer from Eurovision Song Contest

The Ukrainian authorities have acted on their threat to ban Yulia Samoilova – the wheelchair bound signer the Russians have picked to represent them in this year’s Eurovision song contest in Kiev – from travelling to Ukraine.
The grounds for this ban are that Samoilova violated Ukrainian law by taking part in a concert in Crimea in 2015.
