Yesterday we informed you about the "sin chicken" sorcery of Judaism's kaparot ritual in the days before Yom Kippur, wherein a chicken is "shlugged" (rotated) nine times around the head to absorb the sins of the sorcerer. Then it is killed and its blood used to "sweeten the severities."Today we take up the Kol Nidrei rite of Yom Kippur itself.
