The American public is distracted, detached and distanced from anything that we vaguely recognize as relevant. And who can blame us? It’s so much easier to talk of the pol who cuts a pizza slice with a knife and fork versus the patented pleated fold. Or seeing Madame Hillary fumble with a NY subway Metrocard to travel two stops in her sudden connection with the masses. We’re a country who knows nothing, feels nothing and appreciates nothing. That involves intellectual heavy lifting. And concern. Alas.

authenticity mattersBernie won a very healthy victory in Wisconsin last night, 563,127 (56.5%) to 429,758 (43.1%)-- and by a bigger margin that the polls and pundits predicted. Independents went for him overwhelmingly-- better than 70-30! He did really well with the kids-- voters under 50. Hillary did well with the elderly, especially with voters over 65. CNN exit polls showed Bernie evenly split the female vote with Hillary and trounced her with men.

A former Wisconsin police officer received 35 years in prison last week after pleading guilty to killing a woman he met on a bondage website, asphyxiating the 19-year-old woman before hiding her body in a suitcase he threw on the side of a highway in Warworth County, Minnesota.
Steven Zelich, 54, is still facing charges of killing a 37-year-old woman in the same manner.
Complaints against Zelich began mounting years before the murders took place but went ignored by the West Allis Police Department, which employed him from 1989 to 2001.

And when it comes to getting deep into certain issues, especially those that might be construed as being conspiratorial in nature (translation: true), you might as well change that channel, Sparky.
